stefano, in Some help for a better banner
@stefano@blendit.bsd.cafe avatar

I’ve just installed the banner you provided. It’s much better now. Thank you!!!

zer0,

You’re welcome, happy to help :)

I see we still have a transparency issue though, at least with dark theme.
To compare here is how it looks for me:
OpenBSD: ibb.co/Xzx11sH
NetBSD: ibb.co/pWXyHLT
FreeBSD: ibb.co/sWvmxbG

While converting pick the “png” extension instead of “jpeg” that should solve the problem hopefully.

I’ve converted it into png and replaced the banner. Could you please check if it’s ok?

zer0,

Perfect!
Thank you for your work and your blog posts too ;)

What’s the crack with netBSD and openBSD these days?

What’s the Rootless Root?

zer0,

Ho god what am I reading now.
The Tao itself is already mystical, put it over programming style and you get something … I would say “special” and funny.
Good catch my friend 😆

jyoskykid,

Yes that’s it!

jyoskykid,

It’s the one that @crc mentioned. I thought it was popular with BSD people.

zer0,

I am not sure to understand, I know what “rootless” means but “rootless root” needs a link or an explanation at least. But I am convinced that it’s not a dance thing:
rootlessroot.com

@stefano this is great , my three nextcloud server are on ubuntu . i will try "jail-ing" it in my personal freebsd server in my holiday this weekend . thank you .

stefano,
@stefano@blendit.bsd.cafe avatar

I’m glad you like it. Sure, this setup can be used for a general Nextcloud installation as well

glzr,
@glzr@bsd.cafe avatar

@stefano recently , i "lost" two of my nextcloud installation to MS-TEAMS shit . my clients tell me that "everyone" use teams and my open-source solutions are "dangerous" once they gone to the 365 route , the eco-system is drawing them inside ....

stefano,
@stefano@blendit.bsd.cafe avatar

That’s the point. People feel safe when using those closed, expensive, proprietary solutions but all they have is losing control of their own data
