[Always-Free Friday] Roguelikes & Roguelites

I’m going to break my own rule and post some games which are always free under the [Always-Free Friday] tag - if the reception is entirely negative then I’ll stop and never do it again! I saw this post in !games compiling a few always-free/pay-what-you-want roguelikes. Some are on Steam, some Google Play, some itch.io, but at a glance they all look to be indies that you can play for free rather than microtransaction-filled “F2P” gatcha-style stuff. The only one I’ve played before is Vampire Survivors which was quite fun (though I didn’t know that the mobile version is free), anyone else played anything on the list?

I think it’s a fine idea, having it limited to the [Always-Free Friday] tag the community page won’t be flooded with random shovelware. Aye vote from me chief.

Played Shattered Pixel Dungeon which is also available on F-droid, it’s a roguelike turn based tactical dungeon crawler which is quite difficult (For me anyway) but you can do a huge bunch of stuff in the game which only keeps increasing as you progress further, 5/5 for gameplay alone.

As @omnomed pointed out it will definitely need to be kept under control, i.e. only posting on Fridays and always using the [Always-Free Friday] tag so you can easily filter them all out if you’re not interested

Maybe you could post some free and open source games as well on Fridays if you think it fits.

Definitely! I did actually have a good one in mind, you’ll have to wait until next Friday to find out what it is.
