Earlier today I received an email from Proton with an annual survey. Among standard questions there was a significant amount of AI related questions, e.g. mail assistant. Does it mean Proton is looking into AI?
Not knowing what the questions were, I would guess they want to know if users are actually interested in it. Presumably if everyone says they want one they’ll invest, but if everyone says they don’t then they won’t.
Like, do they not worry about people just editing everything and inserting porn or something? I doubt that they were smart enough to use branch protection. To be fair, when you're sending a mass spam campaign, you already don't worry about your reputation anyway lol...
I assume it means the “AI” bit is running locally (for cost/efficiency reasons and so your actual voice isn’t uploaded) the results are then uploaded wherever (which is theoretically better but still hugely open to abuse)
Huh, that’s actually more expensive than I’d have thought for a single bulb, even taking into account that you’d probably only be running it for a quarter of the time
At launch, the Proteus Controller will work with the Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 and 11. ByoWave says it won’t support PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch, though it’s open to partnering with these platforms.
At the heart of Yokoi’s design philosophy lay a concept he called “lateral thinking with withered technology.” Yokoi’s design philosophy can be summarized as an approach that emphasized finding novel uses for existing, inexpensive technology. His philosophy arguably runs counter to conventional game industry wisdom where newer, flashier, cutting-edge technology is (assumed) better.
I think this is still Nintendo’s philosophy. I see a lot of people complaining that the Switch is “outdated hardware” compared to PlayStation and Xbox, not understanding that they’re not trying to make the same thing.
Thanks, I should really stop just skimming the tags for my descriptions! I guess they go with whatever they can get a good deal on; there are a few others that are probably still available that at least claim to be point-and-click adventures.
I don’t think they dropped him too early, I think they promoted him too early. He only had half a season at Toro Rosso before being thrown into the deep end and being judged directly against Max Verstappen! It would have been interesting to see how he developed if he had a similar progression to Russell, with a few years in the slow car to get a feel for F1 before the promotion.
Douglas Adams wrote in the notes accompanying the published volume of original radio scripts that he wanted Slartibartfast’s name to sound very rude, but still actually be broadcastable. He therefore started with the name “Phartiphukborlz”, and changed bits of it until it would be acceptable to the BBC.
