Love this little building on Victoria Road on the Southside of Glasgow. It's just so different from the surrounding sandstone tenements and townhouses, yet it still doesn't seem too out of place.
@failedLyndonLaRouchite@thisismyglasgow I'm an American who lives in a historic (1830s-1870s) urban area, and I'm pretty frequently surprised by the commercial facades on many of the buildings posted here. My limited knowledge of how preservation rules work in the UK led me to believe that this kind of thing wouldn't be allowed.
@TurtleJoe@failedLyndonLaRouchite Yeah, a lot of us here are pretty shocked by them, too! In many cases, there are loopholes which allow very unsuitable signage to remain in place and even flourish. Hopefully, these loopholes will be closed in the not too distant future.
@antinomy I think it may well have been. It's connected to another building in a similar style further down the side street which is called the Coach House. However, I've been trouble finding out more about either of them.
