Found this wonderful ad from the Victorian Railways advertising upgrades to the Geelong Line from a copy of The Age in March 1974.

Also includes mentions of double decker trains and a freight terminal in Horsham

@philip “Just as the Glen Waverley line is to be upgraded…” … what upgrades were those? Wikipedia says that many stations were rebuilt and level crossings removed during the 1970s, is that what this article is referring to?

I assume so, also possibly some signal works. Burnely Street grade separation and the new station was also built in the late 60s
