During Operation Barbarossa, German invasion of the Soviet Union, Nazi forces occupied much of Soviet Ukraine, executing civilians, destroying cultural heritage & infrastructure
The same Ukrainian regions that were once invaded by Nazis are now suffering from Russian attacks, killings
This visual piece, we are looking at similarities between WWII & the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
When you try to communicate with them, they listen but do not hear, they look but do not see. Their thoughts are with him, with their Hero.
Today, it is hard to say how many Ukrainians have died since the full-scale invasion started: the military, civilians, #Ukrainians from occupied territories.
There are many thousands missing, wounded, imprisoned (military and civilians) in Russian prisons, kidnapped children.
It is impossible to say how many people died in the first TWO years of the full-scale war in Mariupol, Lysychansk, Popasna & Sievierodonetsk - there were reports of large casualties among civilians. There is no access to Ukraine territories due to Russian occupation.
At the start of 2024, Human Rights Watch has estimated that at least 8,000 civilians were killed in #Mariupol during combat for the city. Obviously, the number of civilian victims can turn out to be much larger.
Let's finally stop this war. Ukraine must win and be restored.
♲ @mlansbury@despora.de:> ## Rheinmetall CEO to send Kyiv 'hundreds of thousands' of shells this year
The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will supply Ukraine with "hundreds of thousands" of shells in 2024, including prototypes of artillery shells with a range of 100 kilometers, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said on May 5, as reported by the German outlet Handelsblatt.
Rheinmetall is focusing heavily on artillery production, Papperger said. Before Russia's full-scale invasion, the weapons company had an annual capacity of around 70,000 shells. This year, the company expects to produce 700,000.
150,000 #Russian soldiers #killed during full-scale invasion of Ukraine, France says
“All of this for what? This can be summed up in two words: for nothing.”
If confirmed, the 150,000 figure is around ten times higher than that suffered by the Soviet army during the decade-long war it fought in #Afghanistan from 1979-89.
On #StarWarsDay, our ambassador #MarkHamill recorded a special video address, reminding everyone about the importance of supporting 🇺🇦 in these dire times.
Thank you to Mark and all our donors for their Force, which is always with us💙💛"
Remember, terrorist russians bombed the funeral with Iskander missiles.
Russians tried to kill the family of #Ukrainian defender, Oleh Fadieienko, a fallen soldier of the feared 'Kraken' regiment.
Another war crime by terrorist invaders unleashed destruction on the funeral gathering in eastern Ukraine with dozens injured in an airstrike as mourners gathered.
The family was left covered in blood after the strike in the Kharkiv region, with officials saying that 41 people, including 12 children and two babies, were seriously injured.
Report after escape from Putin's missile attack on the funeral attendees: Russians you have no morals, no honor to attack the family of the murdered Ukrainian, even his family cannot bury him, attacked by a MISSILE! Vengenace is coming.
Envision yourself shattered by the murder of your spouse, sibling, father, and friend. You are at the memorial service to bid farewell. Suddenly, a missile, launched by the merciless forces of the infamous russian military, hits the funeral to annihilate everyone present.
Will the global community tolerate another war crime from Russians?
This is what Russians poured onto the people of #Ukraine in April.
300 missiles
300 shaheds death drones
3200 GUIDED BOMBS
#Ukrainian officials: Russian forces routinely fire 10 times as many artillery rounds per day as the Ukrainian military. This means that Russia fires up to 20,000 artillery shells DAILY. Artillery has been a significant factor in the conflict, accounting for about 80 percent of the casualties. Murdering Ukrainians and destroying towns, cities, schools, hospitals, power plants, and energy infrastructure.
Update: Russia is firing a staggering 20,000 artillery rounds per day, US reports, while Ukraine is firing 7,000 rounds daily.
That's not counting mortar shells, mines, grenades, and many millions of rifle cartridges a month!
“Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, its forces have committed many heinous war crimes,” said Belkis Wille, associate crisis and conflict director at Human Rights Watch. “The summary execution – or murder – of surrendering and injured Ukrainian soldiers, gunned down in cold blood, expressly forbidden under international humanitarian law, is also included in that shameful legacy.”
ruSSian Nazis have cowardly murdered at least 15 brave Ukrainian defenders who have surrendered since December 2023 according to well documented report by Human rights watch. That's a war crime according to international law. ruSSia is a terrorist state!!! 🤮
