the preview thing is so god damn sluggish since the last update ... back until cursor moves, only a few tiles for a few moments, this time it just remained grey for a while ... quality software right there.

@milan hmmm, I have a similar setup, it's running quite well for me. And this only began when you updated from 12.4 to 12.5?

@alexskunz i am not sure what was installed before tbh but yes, no issues at all before hm

@milan when they're adding new features (to Develop) internally some data gets changed and then the previews (thumbnails) need to be updated. That can make things appear sluggish while browsing (at least for a while).

I recently deleted my entire preview cache (the "<catalog name> Previews.lrdata" file) on purpose, and just let LRC render them all from scratch. Made things slow, but after that it's better than before, actually.

@alexskunz i think for me its only in the develop pane ... sometimes i only have a few voxels around the cursor for a moment for example (still the preview tho i admit)

@milan hu. And Preferences/Performance shows you that your system supports full acceleration I assume?

@alexskunz indeed^^

@alexskunz but... camera raw cache is at 21.17 GB while 20 is the configured value... wonder if this could be related :think_bread:

@alexskunz i have moved it to an external nvme and increased it.. also hit the optimize button... a quick test still shows black flashes and weird tile lag of the preview but its gone in the moment... question is whether it will stay like this, didnt really pay close attention to when it starts to occour

@milan I'm really not sure what you're seeing and what could be causing rendering issues in Develop (other than hardware problems😬)
