Kids, husband & I are going for our #karate belt testing this afternoon!
Youngest is aiming for orange belt & the other two are aiming for their blue. Husband & I are currently unranked although we have been in class for two years so... it will be nice to see how our sensei ranks us.
I suspect my husband is nonplussed that I've roped him into this whole thing. 🤣
When our kids started, the sensei told parents that if you have a kid in class, you're welcome to join in for free at the back. At the time only 1 dad was doing so. I nervously debated with myself for several weeks until I cajoled husband into joining with me. Several other parents joined soon after. 😅
@syntaxseed I was green belt when young, my daughter joined 4 year ago, she's green. I restarted last November and I'm trying my orange belt in June. 🤗
@syntaxseed My son started at six and I joined to help with the kids class. Ended up joining teen adult class while still helping kids class. Son stopped a year later. 10 years later made it to my brown belt. Best move my son made ! Enjoy the journey and the people you meet along the way.
