Commas matter, but the title punctuation works for the meme, either way.
Version A, with the comma: “This is my basement, buddy.”
In this case, the demon is asserting his control over his dank domain.
Version B, without the comma, as written: “This is my basement buddy.”
In this case, the demon is announcing that his captive is his new “basement buddy.” We don’t know what being a demon’s “basement buddy” entails, exactly, but we can assume it’s some intense shit.
