@tiamat271 There's got to be some backstory. I wonder if the police officer has kids that go to the opposing team, or this was just another case of "THIS IS MY TURF, YOU DO WHAT I SAY OR ELSE"

@ai6yr Right? Like, you know they’re going to stop eventually. Wait it out, go to his house after, mail him a ticket, whatever. It did not seem like there was an urgent safety issue with no other options, necessitating such use of immediate and excessive force (which, it seems to me, is what would justify use of force, but that’s just my opinion and what do I know). Instead, it seems like a demonstration of forced compliance in order to satisfy someone’s ego and need for dominance.

@ai6yr this sure reads like classic police officer attacking someone who the officer didn't think was giving "appropriate respect". And then making up a reason to arrest the victim...

@ai6yr Ah football culture. There are lots of slices of the US where Friday night football is the peak weekly entertainment, including the role of the HS band. Absolutely ridiculous a local cop wouldn’t let them play it out. Outrageous they’d seek to arrest the director.
