bullivant,

Millennials are getting 'more' left wing as they get older. That's what spending a large part of your adulthood under a Tory government does for you.

@bullivant What is the source?

bullivant,

@tokensane John Burns-Murdoch, Financial Times. Here's the thread on the hellsite where JBM goes into the phenomenon in quite some detail. It's worth reading if you are willing to sup with the ever more toxic Musk.

@bullivant Interesting, tnx. The bird thread says home ownership only makes a small difference. I suspect that are also turned off by culture wars. If the Right is losing on both economics and culture, they are out of ammo.

Cameron did his best to detoxify the Tories and stop being the "nasty party", but his party wouldn't follow.

The US republicans have gone full fascist. It will take a decade+ in the wilderness to expunge that. (one can hope)

bullivant,

@tokensane I agree. I came across an interesting article in this vein in the New Statesman to this point titled: "The Tories aren’t even pretending to sell us aspiration".
