Netanyahu and Trump are birds of a feather who wield power for THEIR OWN PERSONAL best interest. Be careful about judging the populace when you live in a glass house. At least the citizens of Israel protest, which is more than anyone can say about what goes on around here.
@StillIRise1963 why do you think Americans were so hesitant to protest during Trump’s presidency? I couldn’t understand then and don’t have much hope anything has changed should we need them in the future. We attended many of the (very small) nightly rallies at Lafayette Park across from the White House, but neither those rallies nor others ever got much traction. And now, no major protests against arming Israel despite widespread opposition to it.
@Colby I’m not sure what the answer is. I think there are many factors at play. Some of them revolve around people not understanding the situation, or being ignorant and/or arrogant in their belief that this can’t happen here. I also think there’s a learned helplessness amongst white people here too.

Swimming amongst well-off white people, I’ve struggled for years to understand this question. I think a big part of it is just privilege. They understand intellectually the danger but feel in their bones that their money and status will protect them. I think they know they should act, but they also know that if they don’t, they’ll be ok. So they don’t.
People there are demanding elections to replace that man; people here are virtue signaling about how they won’t vote to avoid Trump. But these folks here are “better.” Ok then!
