For me it wasn't the cards either which bogged Midnight Suns down.

For one thing, the exploration of the Abbey grounds just felt flat. These just wasn't enough interesting stuff to do.

For another, there were no tough, strategic decisions to be made in the strategic map - no "Doomsday Clock". You could just grind minor missions for rewards as long as you wanted without consequences.

The cards were fine.
