Is this for real? Did Elon just lay off #Tesla’s entire Supercharger business division?
“Rebecca Tinucci, senior director of the electric vehicle maker's Supercharger business, and Daniel Ho, head of the new vehicles program, will leave on Tuesday morning, the report said.
Musk also plans to dismiss everyone working for Tinucci and Ho, including the roughly 500 employees who work in the Supercharger group, The Information said. It was not clear how many employees worked for Ho.”

@drahardja Saving costs by ending investments in what brings in recurring revenue daily. The dude is a genius. Perhaps Rivian and others will snap up these former Tesla employees to build out alternative charging networks.
@drahardja I’ve heard more than a few people suggesting that Tesla may be in a lot of trouble. They had to recall all of their cybertrucks. They’ve also made some missteps in several other areas.
It remains to be seen how serious this is but it could be pretty detrimental.
@vpermar@drahardja This makes zero sense. EV charging infrastructure is basically a money printing machine and will only grow in the next decades. Next he’ll buy and ruin a social netwo… oh, never mind!
@yatil@drahardja Some have been saying that Musk is gutting the company to secure a vote in favor of his compensation package. By removing key talent, he becomes more crucial and has more leverage.
It sounded nuts at first, but now it is becoming the only explanation that makes sense.
@drahardja@vpermar Yeah, but the “strategy” of extracting wealth out of the company and using that as leverage elsewhere does not sound too far fetched.
(Edit: Put “strategy” in quotes because… yeah, that guy doesn’t seem to be the most strategic thinker…)
