cazabon,

Is this just me? For the last couple of days, if I visit a link to a Twitter profile/page/whatever, it refuses to let me see it, prompting me to sign in. If I close the login widget, it redirects to the front page.

For a site having trouble attracting advertisers and keeping users, it seems odd to completely block everyone who isn't already a signed-in account holder.

@cazabon It seems to be publicly viewable again now....

hananc,

@cazabon
It's not just you. It was their newest policy, the one before the current outage. Their current new policy is "how do we get this site to work?".

mooseandriosmom,

@cazabon They only let you see tweets if you are a registered user.

cazabon,

@mooseandriosmom I finally saw Space Elmo's tweet about this.

I understand the reasoning, but it still doesn't bode well for business (for him - I don't care if Twitter dies 😜 ).

mooseandriosmom,

@cazabon I really don't care if it dies either. He has destroyed that site.

KuJoe,

@cazabon they made this change the other day. I'm trying to train myself to not click on any links to Twitter because I know I won't be able to see the content without creating an account.

Apparently this is only temporary from what I've been told from others experiencing the same frustration.

cazabon,

@KuJoe Interesting.

I wonder what the reasoning behind it is. It does seem very much like a scenario.
