A monument to Edward and William Walrond in the church of St. Michael, at Aldbourne, Wiltshire, England. There were brothers who grew wealthy from land ownership and management. They lived during the reign of Elizabeth 1st. It became fashionable for the wealthy to create such monuments to show their status, in return for bequests to the church. Often these monuments were created by travelling artistes who had relocated from Flanders and Netherlands. April 2024.
