As part of #GayGames Hong Kong 2023, the AIDS quilt memorial ceremony was held on Saturday to commemorate those who died in the AIDS epidemic, and to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Audience members were invited to add the names of those who've passed away from AIDS-related illnesses. The quilt - now hung at Central's Festival Village - also included the names of those who received previous dedications during past Gay Games. Photo: Gay Games.

I get weirded out when a gay guy describes a gay romance path in a mainstream game approvingly as "it's so wholesomely done".

I think that for all the work gays have done to create space for themselves, there's something dark about chasing respectability.

Echoes of "you can be yourself as long as we can't see it" I suppose.

I'm not really expressing it very well.
