What they’re doing in regards to the environment and paying their workers fair wages (throughout the entire supply chain) is great - unfortunately their security practices aren’t. I think buying a Pixel second hand is the best option, it also saves you some money. You already get extended security updates by using GrapheneOS, as they provide full OS updates for the entire period in which Google supplies (firmware) security updates (which tends to be a few years more than they provide Android feature updates. e.g. the Pixel 6a gets 3 years of feature updates but 5 years of security updates. GrapheneOS provides feature updates for the full 5 years).
I wouldn’t recommend anything older than a Pixel 6, because the 5a will reach its EOL in August, and all the older devices already reached their EOL. Regarding the modem, I don’t know what you are talking about, I never had any issues on the 6a and the 7 Pro, and never heard about such issues. But feel free to explain this to me.
Title reads like at ad, but this is a new way to reach energy independence. I actually have a small EcoFlow device and it’s pretty good for the price....
But now some genius doesn’t read the fine print and hooks up 2 or 3 on the same circuit. There is no electrician that tells him that’s dangerous because it’s all self installed and he doesn’t know any better. And all of a sudden you are up to 26.5A and you got glowing, smoking wires in your walls…
Ok sure, that makes sense. This might actually be an issue.
Edit: Due to popular demand FatTony Search servers are down for the time being. but has gone open source just in time (Yes that’s how it works 😡) . You may now get responses from other users. Servers will be back up some time later.
I torrent to a seedbox, and said seedbox has great access tools and you can install plenty of useful applications like Resilio Sync, Syncthing, etc....
I’m very happy with Syncthing, you can configure how you want the sync to work (e.g. one-way sync, two-way sync, etc.), the web GUI is pretty good and it’s not that hard to set up. I got the idea from this video back when I initially set up my seedbox, have been using this solution ever since and encountered any issues.
Both. Buy physical media, rip the audio files and put them on your selfhosted music server (e.g. Navidrome). Or pirate the music and buy some merch to compensate the artists.
Enjoy your spyware-free degoogled experience! Feel free to dm me if you have any questions. I’d say I’m quite experienced with GrapheneOS, degoogling and Android in general.
As far as I can see, no. But what benefit would that really have? Network settings (including mobile networks) are global. The only thing that’s profile-specific is your VPN setting. You can only disable a profile’s ability to use the phone/SMS feature. Profiles generally manage apps, user data and some settings.
Ok that actually makes sense. I just realized that the fucking iPhone has this feature, but Android doesn’t. GrapheneOS doesn’t implement any custom features that aren’t privacy/security related. And no, unfortunately you don’t get a second VPN slot either.
Pretty hard. If you don’t have prior experience with the AOSP codebase, I’d say it’s impossible. But if you want to get started, this is how to build GrapheneOS from source: grapheneos.org/build
There might be an easier way to accomplish this. The RethinkDNS app has a built-in Firewall and WireGuard VPN client. It also allows you to configure per-app Wifi and cellular data separately. The only caveat is that you would need to manually import the WireGuard profiles from your VPN provider.

Now that DuckDuckGo is out. Give me your search prompts and I'll answer them as best I can. That includes images (based on what I have saved on my PC). So what is it you wish to know or see?
