AnonStoleMyPants,

People like to use things that are used by many people. Not that surprising.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I guess it is more following of people of certain topics that talk about them in twitter. Like someone follows few people abour their hobby, some politicians maybe, and people of other interests they have. I haven’t really gotten the idea that people use it to talk to friends per say, or follow them, but for sure people do that as well but maybe it is not the main point.

Though I could be spewing shit because I don’t use it. Just the vibe I’ve been getting over the years.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Thank fuck.

Though they’ll make opt-out soon enough, when the backlash has dwindled down.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I doubt most Windows users care enough to hate it.

AnonStoleMyPants,

More like finding bugs and exploiting the hell out of them.

Is it impossible to be private online? (yewtu.be)

In sharing this video here I’m preaching to the choir, but I do think it indirectly raised a valuable point which probably doesn’t get spoken about enough in privacy communities. That is, in choosing to use even a single product or service that is more privacy-respecting than the equivalent big tech alternative, you are...

AnonStoleMyPants,

Quantum computers eh? Yeah that’s not even remotely true. Currently they are a scientific curiosity with very very little practical use.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Lmao yeah when they realised how much money they can do it they suddenly “understand” the “risk” it “poses” if it is freely available. Uh huh. Sure bud lemme have some of what you’re having. Smokes capitalism yeah that’s some good shit.

AnonStoleMyPants,

No, the shicken egg was a shicken egg even prior to you eating it. The act of giving it a name is irrelevant. The proto-chicken could’ve lain a hundred eggs, each becoming a new “chicken”. If 99 of them die off and are never born then that does not mean they didn’t exist. It just means they did not exist in a way where we could’ve given them a name.

AnonStoleMyPants,

But that same argument works the other way too, no? If you define a chicken egg as an egg that came from a chicken, then if you have a dozen of eggs you cannot know whether they’re chicken eggs or whatever eggs unless you know specifically a chicken laid them. Even if you take a dna test of it and it comes back as “a chicken”, you cannot know whether it is in fact a chicken egg.

In the other definition you are capable of determining whether the egg is in fact a chicken egg by its contents.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Though to be fair, using dirty bombs or radioactive material has waaaaay larger “fear” factor than a random chemical that kills just as well.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I don’t get it. Actually well working AI NPCs sound fucking amazing. To have an actual conversation about anything in the game by typing your questions? That’s like the wet dream of an RPG.

Have writers write the background info, some lore stuff, “books” about stuff in the game etc.

I want to have a conversation with all the NPCs and choose from four premade questions about a quest I am on.

And yes, obviously they have to work well or they’re extremely awkward and anti-immersive.

AnonStoleMyPants,

You can also use something like onedrive or Google drive or any of the cloud storage systems out there.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Another very simple solution that will work well is just a google docs file that you share with people.

Starting a Serrano, a Hungarian cheese pepper, and a cherry tomato in my backyard! (files.catbox.moe)

I’ve mentioned it in the weekly thread but these are sitting an inch deep in nutrients and water. They drink it down, and I refill it when they need it. Its a hydroponic method called kratky. I don’t have a hose or a lot of room so this might be a good solution for me. Excited to see how it goes!

AnonStoleMyPants,

Kratky is great! Remember not to fill it too much after they’ve used up the nutes so you don’t drown the plants.

AnonStoleMyPants,

2/3 of the container height is generally a good ballpark. You can also check where the air roots start and just stick to height lower than that.

AnonStoleMyPants,

ZeroTier is another alternative. Don’t really know the differences but if you’re googling about tailscale it might be worth a check.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Yeah but this is the case for pretty much all technology. Coding getting easier and quicker through new tech = fewer coders necessary. Motion capture = fewer animators, etc etc.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Preferences are rarely black and white. I prefer locally grown vegetables, yet those are not the only kind of veggies I buy.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Can’t say I do tbh. You make it sound like if one prefers healthy foods they can’t get a craving for a burger and yet ditch the fries. To me it seems completely normal.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Looking good!

My seedlings are arriving next week and hopefully I can start growing soon. Still haven’t actually built anything to grow in but it is on my todo list. Some tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, and bunch of greens. Not much space here but I have a small backyard that should do the trick.

AnonStoleMyPants,

He is proposing not to break them and work toward changing the law first.

AnonStoleMyPants,

And now they nuked the entire IA.

Well done.

Intentions were probably correct but this result is kinda ass.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Tasker task that puts sound on when receiving a txt with some string of words. Should work.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I started playing Enderal, the full overhaul mod for Skyrim. Seems quite fun. Maybe 10h in now.
