Our court is a joke as long as it has Trollito and Coke can Clarence on it.

WTAF? Do these dumbasses know this is a secular country?

CharlesDarwin,

What is a little pew pew gun going to do against organized terror with the government’s blessing?

CharlesDarwin,

These tools probably actually believe this country was founded on “the” ten commandments, even if the secular founding and the freedom FROM religion flies right in the fact. The first of “the” ten commandments and the First Amendment come into conflict right away. Their silly fanfic has their god Jehovah/Allah/Yahweh declaring there is to be no other god but him. Meanwhile, my First Amendment means I don’t have to give a flying fuck what they say their god says.

It’s curious how many xtians eat shrimp. And cheeseburgers, ffs. Against their god’s law.

Slurp, slurp.

Beetlebert should just skip right to the chase and get on her knees and give him a beej. Same with Gaetz and all the suck-ups that showed up to support Ronald McDonald.

Republicans Flock to Trump’s Trial, Risking Control of the House Floor (www.nytimes.com)

"The House was in session at the Capitol on Thursday, but thanks to the latest procession of Republicans reporting for duty in front of a Manhattan criminal courthouse to show support for former President Donald J. Trump at his trial, the party risked ceding its control of the floor,” the New York Times reports....

The Democratic Party should have legislation ready to go in just such a scenario.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

They were always the fascist party.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

Maybe they are thinking they get some hush money.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

From the newspaper that’s been championing the stuff!

…yes, I realize it’s an op-ed piece, but still. How much ink/screen space has NYT spent on to prop up the horse-race bullshit? I’m thinking all the very rich owners of these outlets are thinking all their wealth will shield them from the very worst outcomes of another Ronald McDonald presidency. Apparently, they have learned little from the past.

I bet he gets quite a few Jill Stein type of voters.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

The typical horseshoe stuff is definitely in play with RFK. The usual crank stuff like vaccine denialism, not to mention people with a chip on their shoulder thinking they have to “send a message” and have “let the world burn” type of attitudes…people that are so Enlightened ™ that they’d rather everyone learn some kind of lesson rather than accept that the two adult choices we actually have are: Donnie or Biden.

Those are the choices.

The election system we have doesn’t care about anyone’s theories or lessons or messages they want to send. A lot of RFK/Stein type of voters haven’t grown up enough to realize this.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

I’m going to blame people who have not grown up enough to realize the choices we actually have in front of us.

@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

LOL, we’ll see how much of a winning strategy this is. Naturally, the repub party doesn’t GAF about what the majority thinks; they’ll happily ram through new rules over the wishes of most of America. But as things are right now (meaning, we still have elections) they have to try to sell this to Americans.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve heard crotchety old men whine about no-fault divorce. Many of these were from the so-called “Greatest Generation”. I thought most of this would be something I’d never hear much about as that generation slowly faded away. But it seems like a lot of terrible con agendas, it never really dies, it just lies in wait for people to try to start mainstreaming it again. See: their fight against teaching the very fundamentals of biology (evolution), their fight against the very secularism this country was founded on, etc…

How long until these people start whining about women being able to have their own bank accounts, credit cards? What about driving?

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

I’d be curious as to what kind of “legal consequences” he thinks there should be as a result of divorce? WTAF, why would there be ANY?

And, as you say, from everything I’ve heard, divorce can be financially crippling for so many.

I wonder how many cons watched Handmaid’s Tale and consider it a society to aspire to.

CharlesDarwin,
@CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world avatar

You are probably thinking of one of the other tokens - Herman Cain.

It would have been ok if she said “grab that opportunity by the pussy” or “stand on 5th Street and shoot someone.”

[1] Offer only valid for allegedly very rich white right-wing men…

CharlesDarwin,

There are many, many, many low-info voters that think exactly like that.

Sadly.
