I didn’t watch the video the article references but it seems to be missing a big part of why so many NSFW games have been added to places like itch.io and Steam in the past couple years.

COVID 19. A significant amount of developers got started during the quarantine and continued on afterwards. Development of a lot of these games slowed down afterwards and many were abandoned though. A big percentage of them make direct reference to some kind of quarantine or virus.

It probably helped, as well, that so many people were stuck at home and the tools to create these games have become more accessible in the past couple years.

I think it has just spiralled since then with lewd games sneaking into people’s recommended games list and others making jokes or commenting about it. Fetish Locator was one that some people might recall.

I don’t think games like Cyberpunk 2077 can be considered sex games because they have occasionally have visual genitals and carefully framed sex scenes. That seems more like a natural progression like people’s tolerance for violence in video games.

There are also multiple projects for using a PSVR on Linux that are in various stages of development.

ThinkPad x200s. I recently did the USB C charging mod and upgraded to WiFi 6E. I’ve had Libreboot installed for a while now.

I do wish I could have more than 8GB of RAM though.

I feel like it started really strong but as people completed the game a lot of people started saying it was dull.

Do we know anything about the DLC?

If it’s just a generic stuff pack like the recent Fallout 4 “free update” I don’t think it will be enough to get me to try Starfield.

The latter part of the article seems to be about the update and not the DLC

As summed up by Xbox fan Klobrille on social media, the updates include new display modes on console, new shipbuilding features, city maps, new gameplay, difficulty options, and some additional “surprises”.

Two Chinese nationals charged in US with trying to export banned semiconductor machinery to China — one arrested in Chicago (www.tomshardware.com)

Two Chinese nationals have been charged for an alleged scheme to illegally export a semiconductor dicing machine to a Chinese tech company. One of the two, Han Li, 44, was arrested in Chicago on Wednesday, while Lin Chen, 64, is believed to be in China. The charges and arrest are the latest developments in a protracted trade war...

I wonder how they got caught with all the tech that goes back and forth between the US and China.

It seems like the US was aware of their plans based off of the articles wording but I’d be curious to hear how they originally were flagged. I wonder if it was just for buying the DTX 150 Scribe and Break machine from Dynatex and possibly being Chinese citizens.

Neat. Thanks for the insight

Does the info at the bottom mean it’s just taking into account the average amount of years a person spends in school?

I also can’t imagine Nintendo’s next console not being a mobile one so I think there’s definitely a market for a traditional stationary console.

Is Bioshock Infinite that connected to the first the two games? I can’t recall a lot of callbacks.

I feel like that’s one of those situations where you could use Infinite as a starting point then go back and play the originals.

Even if the stories don’t connect, I always would recommend starting at the earliest point in a series and moving forward, since this allows for a better appreciation of the evolution of the game over several iterations rather than being disappointed by the regression you would see going backwards or jumping around.

How do you approach remakes/remasters, franchise reboots, and prequels in that case? Do you play them in release order?

I think taking that approach would put a lot of people in the situation where they are forcing themselves to play something they don’t really want to. How many people have gone back and played TES Arena or even Morrowind?

Maybe it’s because I like completing games that I start but I feel like just trying every game that lead up to Skyrim would get tiring in a hurry.

Would you need to go all the way back and play the original Metal Gear or is Metal Gear Solid a decent starting point?

CorrodedCranium,
@CorrodedCranium@leminal.space avatar

I agree but I wouldn’t recommend it to a casual fan. I think most of them would view it as more of a novelty and only get so far in the game.

If someone was looking for more Fallout after playing 3, NV, and 4 I’d probably recommend a game outside of the franchise that has similar themes like Metro 2033 or STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl.

Yeah it doesn’t help that the Steam version would likely try to auto-update and I don’t believe there is an easy way to downgrade.

I could be wrong about that latter point. There might be an option in the properties menu similar to how you can opt into betas.

I doubt it. Most people seem to regard Creation Club content as something different than regular mods. You can check out the content that’s available here but a majority of it is closer to the paid skins found in online games than what people typically associate with modding and meaningfully altering a game.

I think Bethesda knows this and most people looking to mod Fallout 4 are probably going to continue working with what’s available.

That reminds me of when people would enter a keyboard combination to flip the screen of the computers at school. I think the IT department ended up removing those computers.

Before it was acquired by Microsoft, ZeniMax Media, the parent company of studios like Bethesda Game Studios and id Software, was working on remasters of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and a new entry in the Doom franchise, according to new documents revealed as part of FTC v. Microsoft. The games were included in a July 2020 Microsoft presentation about the then-potential ZeniMax acquisition.

These are leaks so I am not getting my hopes up until I see it. I feel like we’ve seen a few large leaks that have turned out to be nothing but ideas they’ve tinkered with. People thought the Fallout Anthology release was going to be a Fallout remaster several years ago.

You can install TTW on the Steam Deck. You could probably set it up in Lutris and just alter the selected executable back and forth throughout the installation process.

That said Gnarly Repacks has a TTW repack that streamlines the process.

How did you come across this post by the way? Just curious considering it’s three months old.
