I’d say more of a rogue state: international sponsor of terrorism, authoritatian apartheid state severely limiting human rights, etc. It is not isolated in its existence and actually has support of many other states, mostly western.

The inflation thing reminded me of our wages here. Over here in Belgium, most people’s wages are tied to inflation (and deflation, actually). Companies keep nagging about it, sometimes saying: ‘but what about deflation??? Your wage would decline!!!’ Since it got implemented we had one entire QUARTER (not even year) of deflation. The rest was inflation.

That might be it. It would make sense for Hamas if they wouldn’t release all the hostages at once and that would mean a breach of the ceasefire, allowing Israel to invade anyway.

As sad as it is for the Palestinians but we have to remember that what’s best for US interest is not the best for everyone else. It was suspicious for them to all of a sudden come up with a proposal and for them to instantly have the support of the EU as well.

I’d expected The Netherlands and Belgium to be high up the list as well. Virtually everyone I know here eats meat at least once and sometimes multiple times a week.

Echo chamber? Maybe. Toxic? No, not at all. It’s actually very freeing to be able to discuss ML stuff more deeply instead of having the umpteenth lib/ultra/trot coming in trying to debate TANKIE MAN SQUARE ONE BILLION DEATH.
