For funsies I just went to joebiden.com to see if he had a policy position on his site regarding Israel.

And also fun, there are no policy positions there at all.

Just a donation portal and a chatbot trying to gett you to pay to be in a contest to have a dinner with him. I’m sure the conversation at that dinner will be riveting.

Awesome.

LOL

US agencies will take their bribes and do jack shit. As with everything else, Europe will lead on the regulatory front.

I still have a ton of these books and bust them out occasionally. CYOA was the peak of reading growing up.

Mass graves and body bags: Gaza's al-Shifa hospital after Israel withdrew its forces (www.bbc.com)

- After Israeli forces pulled out of Gaza City’s vast al-Shifa hospital -once the biggest and best equipped medical facility in the Gaza Strip- on 1 April, following their second raid there, the claim that there had been no civilian casualties was immediately questioned....

I love that half of my feed is Israel stories, all of them negative, and both presumptive US presidential candidates support Israeli genocide 100%.

Idaho got away with criminalizing abortion. Texas has gotten away with making doctors too scared to save people’s lives when it’s clear they need a lifesaving abortion.

In less than two years 2/3 of the US states will have followed in those footsteps, just like in 2/3 of the US states it’s still legal to pay someone $7 an hour.

I switched to Linux this week. I highly recommend it.

The US is fascist now. Lots of inappropriate stuff us making a comeback.

They didn’t miss it. They just report on what they’re told to by their owners.

I de-converted (and de-baptized myself) from Christianity when I was nineteen.

Once I was outside of my parents’ bubble, it was easier to take a look around and realize that God isn’t real, and the only reason I was ever a Christian is that I was born and programmed to be that way. I now see my life as finite which makes me value my time and mental well-being much more than I did before.

It was a ritual I made up myself. Since you baptize by water, I debaptized by fire.

I just set up a little tailgate grill, made a small fire, burned my Bible and sprinkled a few drops of my blood onto it. It was a fairly quick thing but very cathartic, as it came on the heels of two years of my brain railing against my programming and I had many, many nightmares about demons and spiritual warfare.

Do what’s best for you. I found burning it to be very empowering.

Never got into it myself, but I know very well how popular it is, so it must be an objectively good game.

Pretty good!

After reading about Windows Recall last week I decided I’m making the change to Linux. (Dual boot for now, since I’m an avid gamer and don’t want to lose my games, so I need a few months to make sure nothing will break.)

Currently typing this from my fresh installation of Brave on my fresh installation of Linux Mint.

Feels good to say “!@#$ you, Microsoft”.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

On the distro I chose, Linux Mint, Steam is easily available via the Software Manager, and roughly half of my games are Steam-compatible out of the box. Steam actually has a toggle in your game library that indicates your games that are Linux-compatible. For those that aren’t, there’s www.protondb.com, where you can check the database to see if particular games are compatible and get installation tips to help with compatibility.

Installation was very easy with info available on Youtube and the Linux Mint website.

All it cost me was $7 for a USB drive in order to create the ISO file.

I should add that I kept Windows as well, due to my extensive video game library. You can have both and just use Linux for most things in order to upgrade your security and efficiency, and just switch to your Windows boot in order to play games that aren’t on Linux.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

That is exceedingly helpful. Thank you.

I’m tentatively planning to ditch Windows completely in a few months. I just want to use Linux daily for a while until I’m comfortable with it and certain I’m good to go on the gaming side.

It’s friday.

I made it to the gym and feel glorious. I’m on Day 4 of being a primary Linux user and it feels nice to know that I’m digitally flipping Microsoft the bird.

Yeah.

We had a beloved comic shop owner here in Kansas City get murdered chasing down a thief who made off with a handful of books.

I get the desire to want to do something, but man, it makes you wish these dudes had stopped to put it all in perspective before intervening.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

It’s exactly what they wanted.

This is about control and punishing perceived undesirables. Cruelty is a feature, not an unfortunate byproduct.

Picked up Slay the Spire on sale on Friday and I’ve put 30 hours into it this weekend.

Not an easy game, but fun.

Man, I love VR.

I watched a lot of the live events they had on Meta Horizons in April and May, planning to watch more this summer.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

Ya love to see it.

If you’re not a fascist.

And bonus points to Israel for trotting out the old tried and true: “If you’re not with us you’re with the terrorists” bullshit.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

And the enshittification of everything marches onward.

FlashMobOfOne,
@FlashMobOfOne@beehaw.org avatar

Nothing crazy.

I’ll take myself out for barbecue somewhere here in KC over the weekend for sure, but I’m anti-war, so my feelings on this holiday are complex.
