If anyone else comes across this, my arcade ROMs weren’t zipped (d’oh!), and Genesis Plus is a huge success - night and day better than Picodrive for smoothness on both my Miyoo and Anbernic.
(Although for some reason by default the emulated clock speed was too high by default on Genesis Plus. Had to correct this for the audio to be ok.)
As with all plastics, all this fake grass will continue to be a problem even when it’s removed. We can either burn it or leave it in landfill to ever so slowly decompose into billions of bits of microplastic.
It should have been banned a long time ago, but we only ever address things when it’s already too late.
In a rush to buy 3 travel cards last week, as the train was literally pulling into the station, my finger slipped and I accidentally bought an extra child’s ticket.
When we changed trains at the next station I went to the counter and they sorted a refund of that extra ticket for me.
I asked how it would be possible to do something like that in the future with only ticket machines and the guy said he didn’t know.

I never believed in tactical voting before but with our broken FPTP system I’ve come to agree it’s what’s necessary. Not being a Tory is the most important thing for a candidate. Green, Labour, Lib Dem, SNP… if a vote for them blocks a Tory then I’ll do it.
I’ve had many issues in the past with different distros suddenly breaking after an update, and me not really knowing why or how to troubleshoot without just erasing....
I was way more prepared to waste time being confused by a game back in the day. You occasionally would try stuff for hours. Now if I get stuck 10 mins I start thinking they didn’t play test or design the game well enough haha.
Yep. And coloured ledges you can grab, sparkling items to collect… I remember in old Monkey Island games there being no way to visually discern what you could or couldn’t interact with, you’d spend so long just trying things to see what worked.
Yeah, having stuff being obvious is actually incredibly freeing. Without that I waste so much time checking every part of every room, trying to work out which corridor leads to the objective vs which one might have collectibles.
Knowing I can just play a game, find most stuff, get on with it, and not regret not using a guide is a real gift.
When I was in elementary school, the cafeteria switched to disposable plastic trays because the paper ones hurt trees. Stupid, I know… but are today’s initiatives any better?

I’ve only been using Lenny for a day and a half, but I’ve been having a great time. The memes are 10/10 and everything else is coming together nicely. This is already my Reddit replacement, genuinely.
Ha, I was laughing at someone else writing Lenny earlier. Never considered that it was just auto-correct and that I should be careful not to do the same 😅 https://i.imgur.com/BH9uI2R.png
Been using this for many many years now. If you think you can’t live without Google, give it a go. VERY rare that I actually need to use another search engine for anything.
When I was pretty young, maybe about 6 (so I guess you can take this with a large pinch of salt) I saw a ghost of my mum one evening, when I was sitting in the front room.
I looked up and saw her walk across the front room, where I was, into the kitchen.
I then ran in and asked my dad if mum was home as I’d just seen her - she wasn’t.
An important note on use of the word “ghost”. Back then, and to this day, my mother is very much alive. She was simply out that evening.
I saw her wearing clothes that she owned, but not the clothes she had been wearing that day.
Aside from this I’ve never had any other strange or supernatural experience.

Will we look back at today's "go green" initiatives as stupid and inadequate?
