Wow this thread is a straight condemnation of Lemmy’s high-horse. It’s wild that the comment above yours is neutralized on votes and yours is so far in the negative. What did you do that was so worthy of condemnation? Express concern for another human being’s family.

Of course, people here will tell you that billionaires discount lives on daily even while they discount the lives of the loved ones of this woman. Were all of them billionaires? Perhaps. Regardless of the size of their pockets we do know that they are human.

Folks that lean left generally understand what it’s like to be caught in the circumstances of your birth. It’s incredibly telling that this self-same group finds it so easy to dismiss the value of this human life and those around her.

You’re right to be concerned for the well-being of others, and I believe I’m right to be concerned about the company we’re keeping here. It’s seemingly a group of people that will dismiss the death of someone wealthy, even while they assume the wealthy will dismiss the death of the poor. I wouldn’t say it’s entirely incorrect even though it’s just as morally bankrupt.

Even if this were true, are we to assume the same of this woman’s grandchildren? Her distant family?
Regardless, I fail to see the need to laugh at a terrible death, and that is certainly not standing up for anyone’s moral compass but my own.

The sad state of affairs here is how far you and others like you are removed from your humanity.

This nonsense is replete here on Lemmy. These purity-test “liberals” are the snake eating its tail and it is more than gratifying to see a strong ally like AOC call this bullshit out. These reprobates do nothing for the Palestinian cause outside of stroking their own lazy egos.

So noble to warn us while advising we ignore the evidence of our ears from just yesterday. I know where Biden stands with respect to women’s rights and seeing you twist that position says everything it needs to. That you go on to think the president can pull all the levers of government by fiat is unsurprising and seems almost a feature here with the regularity that it is regurgitated.

Anti-Biden to a degree with which one is compelled to lie or pro-trump is a distinction without a difference by my lights.

Nuance is lost here as it’s possible to both support Biden and decry what is happening in Palestine. You’ll notice no one here is in favor of genocide though the poster above is correct about people in left spaces loving to tar others with this word as well as other slanders. I suspect they have little concern about how far it carries whatever message they’re trying to tote and is merely a symptom of being unable to argue an actual point.

Also, the country is largely centrist regardless of how many of us would like to believe the average person hews left. If you think I’m a centrist, you’ve got a rude awakening ahead.

What study bears out that 2025 date? Everything I’ve read regarding sea ice points at 2050-2080 at the earliest.

In the last three months, I maybe booted into my windows drive three times? Twice to play Siege and once to flash a firmware update for a particular device. Windows is increasingly irrelevant to gaming, and I’m loving it.
