my main team is me (thiefling bard, i.imgur.com/3AewyHO.png (ended up leaving the moustache out, though)), Astarion, Gale and Karlach. I switch any of them momentarily if I need something specific the others can do and immediately back when it’s done.

I guess I could swap out Gale for Wyll, but… I dunno.

Karlach and Astarion are my favorites so far. “Mama K” just radiates good vibes, and “Mr. Nibbles” brings out the sass… and I just realized I’m traveling with a dog and a cat.

But perhaps it is to make cyberware more interesting than just tier 1, tier 2, tier 3. In reality everything has some trade-offs

if it was a tradeoff, sure. But in the example with the deep-field thingy, it seems to literally downgrade it, for a hefty price, and has the gall to call it an upgrade.

cool=20, so maxed out. And the cool-attuned part is not the one I mean anyway. The only thing changing between the current (left) and “upgraded” (right) is the main property, the one affecting crit chance by distance, which is objectively getting worse.

probably true for ansi/english keyboards

for all/most (?) euro/iso keyboards altgr+4 for $. Shift+4 for ¤

Fairly common to use en/us-layouts with highend mechanical keybards, as parts for those are more readily available.

But outside of the mech keebs or other niches, yea, people use the regional keyboard variants. Because it’s just easier if you can see the weirdo ümlâuts/etc regional characters on the keycaps when you’re not a touch typist. Over here (finland) it’s actually pretty hard to even get ansi/us layout keyboard unless you really go about your way and seek one out, basically all keyboards in stores are fin/swe iso layout. I’d assume the same is true to most euro countries.

oh wow. I have preonic, but I’ve more or less given up on learning to type with it. It’s way too narrow. I like the concept but a split ortho would be better, as I wouldn’t have to “hunch down” on it so much.

Its pretty close, but ideally I’d want to have it fit fin/swe layout without using modifiers to type ö and ä, and have them more or less where they’d be on normie layout. (I can live without å, so that already gives 1 key more leeway).

So far pretty much no ortho split allows this, I think. Unless I move enter key to the thumb keys or so. But then again that might be the default for eego/split keebs anyway, I dunno.

Going to have to read up on these a bit more.

is Asus auto driver update legit?

So I just built a new PC. Updated windows 10 for the first time, and rebooted. When I rebooted, a program popped up called Auto Driver Installer from Asus (which is my motherboard). I figured it came from a Microsoft update, launched it with admin rights, and it didn’t find anything. I pinned it to the taskbar, and rebooted....

While you can toggle it off from bios, that switch defaults to on, and as I have an AMD board, I’ve had to update bios several times (early adopters, yay) so defaults get set and… yea. Hate it with a passion.

My concern is that since the installer doesn’t fit on the bios image, it fetches it from the internet at some point on the boot process. To me that sounds incredibly risky, it’s (possibly) just one bad dns record away from downloading and installing a malicious payload on boot, by default. And how sure can we ever be that the tiny installer snippet on the board is even legit asus installer, can a bad actor flash their own in there and then just sell the board forward?

Could we just… NOT have hardware automatically install stuff?

never even heard of omen app, but seems like total bloatware laced with datacollection (because… .what isn’t nowadays?)

Micro Mages? Essentially a modern nes-game, co-op for up to 4 players.

edit: while not really a platformer (but does include platforming sections, iirc) and soundtrack does slap hard with the chiptunes: Retro City Rampage

the game from steam also comes as a nes rom-image, you can use it any nes emulator. I used Mesen, got quite a bit more customization & scaling options etc… and save states because I suck at it :D

saw the same thing during that mission, though they were piled neatly next that desk, so I just thought it was their stockpile.

But, not complaining. McGyvered a lot of crafting materials out of them.

the new lighting things seem to bug out a bit, tho. Nothing major, but for me, Dex’s skin turned entirely white for a bit during the car ride with him in the beginning. Caught me by a surprise. :D

I can obviously only speak for myself: I started a new playthrough just to see what has changed. So, worth? I’ve only just picked up the relic, no sidequests/gigs/etc done yet.

Some things feel new, eg. I don’t recall the arasaka tower had destroyable walls or somesuch before, but could be I just managed to sneak/shoot better before. Mostly the things that are changed/feels changed are fairly small, apart from the skilltrees and mechanics.

Also, the PL questline apparently opens when you’re done (?) with voodoo boys, so I kinda felt that I want to tackle that when it’s given to me. But with the new enemy scaling (love or hate it), I guess the dlc mission(s) stays relevant regardless of your level.

But ultimately up to you, I guess. Flip a coin if unsure? :P

It’s quite divisive subject. While I’m more in the camp indifferent about it, I do get the arguments for and against it.

To me curbstomping lowlevels is just pointless, and legendary godslayer gigathug lvl 99 is silly. Occasionally I end up putting a quest/mission/whetever on hold and later I realize it’s now “gray”. Walking through enemies that can’t hurt me, to get a magguffin to get an (at that point) insignificant reward feels dumb. Sure, I could just not do the mission at that point, but… I’m compelled to do all. Always. :D

Fairly consistent difficulty and growing arsenal of player’s tools without making me op sounds all good to me. But, remains to be seen how the scaling feels later on.

Each to their own, but admittedly it seems odd change to the game at this point. I don’t mind it, but… eh. Odd.

edit: OOH! Use AI to generate the sign language videos. Could be wild, considering how good AI is at drawing hands.

It can’t carry, but it can throw stuff from the ground. Came useful in one side quest.

Other than that, used it few times to pull a lever or such. Nothing terribly handy (sorry, not sorry)

Kinda leaning on the theory it might be a druid who wants some bovine action, or something equally weird, and thats why they won’t speak up on what they are up to.
