PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Holy shit Penny Arcade looks very different nowadays. I haven’t seen a comic from them in probably a decade.

Now that DuckDuckGo is out. Give me your search prompts and I'll answer them as best I can. That includes images (based on what I have saved on my PC). So what is it you wish to know or see?

Edit: Due to popular demand FatTony Search servers are down for the time being. but has gone open source just in time (Yes that’s how it works 😡) . You may now get responses from other users. Servers will be back up some time later.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

They should be gone after about 14-16 hours IMO.

That’s an issue with content creation, not with Lemmy. Reddit is able to constantly refresh the front page because they have access to a large user base. With that large user base comes a never ending stream of content. Lemmy is nowhere near as large, so old posts are able to linger as they’re not getting displaced by new posts.

What is the Legal copyright on a Lemmy Post?

Most instances don’t have a specific copyright in their ToS, which is basically how copyright is handled on corporate social media (Meta/X/Reddit owns license rights to whatever you post on their platform when you click “Agree”). I’ve noticed some people including Copyright notices in posts (mostly to prevent AI use). Is...

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

That’s exactly what it is. It’s born from a fundamental misunderstanding of how copyright law works. It’s basically just a Facebook chain letter.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Worth noting that the “they thought they were Hamas” part is… Well… Not correct. WCK coordinated the shipment directly with the IDF. The IDF knew exactly where the trucks were, and what they were carrying. And then the IDF bombed them anyways, because they’re manufacturing a famine to further the genocide. And allowing food aid to enter would disrupt their planned famine.

Bombing the trucks was a message for any other groups that may have considered sending humanitarian aid: “Try to help Palestinians, and we’ll kill you. Even if we know who you are, and you clear it with us ahead of time. We’ll blame Hamas and get away with it, and your death will be meaningless.” And it worked… The truck bombings had a chilling effect on any future aid that was planned, because the IDF has shown that they can and will get away with it.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Democrats vote for candidates they love; Republicans vote for a party they love.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, (edited )

And that’s why democrat candidates struggle to maintain voters. There are very few lovable democrats, so they don’t get votes. With republicans, it doesn’t matter if the individual candidates are lovable, because they’ll get the party vote regardless.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

And that’s exactly why Epic paid for the exclusive.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

I mean, it could hurt the 1%. Car manufacturers gather a laughably huge amount of data. Everything from where you shop, to your genetic information, to who you’re sleeping with.

All it would take is a group of 99%’ers pooling money to buy the info of lawmakers, CEOs, etc… When it’s suddenly their info being sold, I bet they’ll be a lot more amenable to protections. Because when the lawmakers’ secret affairs start getting aired by their car, they’ll be quick to shut that shit down.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

And this is likely exactly why they didn’t call him to the stand. They knew he’d immediately perjure himself, because he’s a compulsive liar. No amount of coaching or “just keep your answers short and only answer exactly what was asked” will keep Trump from lying on the stand.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

I mean, cars can be demystified the same way computers can: By building and maintaining it yourself. Everyone is afraid to build their first computer, because it seems way too complicated and delicate. Then you actually build your first one, and go “oh hey this actually isn’t so bad after all.”

Yes, cars (especially modern cars) have a lot more difficult-to-build parts. But modern cars are also a lot like computers in the sense that you don’t need to know every single component on an GPU to be able to install one. You don’t need to be able to build a car part from scratch. The same way you can slot a GPU into a motherboard, you can just buy the entire car part preassembled and bolt it into place. The important part is learning what the different components do, so you can troubleshoot them.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Yeah, it’s very similar to the “is loli porn unethical” debate. No victim, it could supposedly help reduce actual CSAM consumption, etc… But it’s icky so many people still think it should be illegal.

There are two big differences between AI and loli though. The first is that AI would supposedly be trained with CSAM to be able to generate it. An artist can create loli porn without actually using CSAM references. The second difference is that AI is much much easier for the layman to create. It doesn’t take years of practice to be able to create passable porn. Anyone with a decent GPU can spin up a local instance, and be generating within a few hours.

In my mind, the former difference is much more impactful than the latter. AI becoming easier to access is likely inevitable, so combatting it now is likely only delaying the inevitable. But if that AI is trained on CSAM, it is inherently unethical to use.

Whether that makes the porn generated by it unethical by extension is still difficult to decide though, because if artists hate AI, then CSAM producers likely do too. Artists are worried AI will put them out of business, but then couldn’t the same be said about CSAM producers? If AI has the potential to run CSAM producers out of business, then it would be a net positive in the long term, even if the images being created in the short term are unethical.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, (edited )

I wasn’t arguing about current laws. I was simply arguing about public perception, and whether the average person believes it should be illegal. There’s a difference between legality and ethicality. Something unethical can be legal, and something illegal can be ethical.

Weed is illegal, but public perception says it shouldn’t be.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

And that’s a good point! Luckily it’s still (usually) fairly easy to identify AI generated images. But as they get more advanced, that will likely become harder and harder to do.

Maybe some sort of required digital signatures for AI art would help; Something like a public encryption key in the metadata, that can’t be falsified after the fact. Anything without that known and trusted AI signature would by default be treated as the real deal.

But this would likely require large scale rewrites of existing image formats, if they could even support it at all. It’s the type of thing that would require people way smarter than myself. But even that feels like a bodged solution to a problem that only exists because people suck. And if it required registration with a certificate authority (like an HTTPS certificate does) then it would be a hurdle for local AI instances to jump through. Because they would need to get a trusted certificate before they could sign their images.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

And this is exactly why I have started referring to the massive pickup trucks as gender affirming care. It simultaneously makes fun of the “me need big truck because man” mentality, while also pissing off the types of guys who are most likely to buy the trucks. Because the guys who buy the trucks are the same guys protesting trans healthcare.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Here’s a reminder that most washing machines use a universal key, which you can buy online for like $5. You can just pop it open and hit the little “coin inserted” switch to make it think you paid.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Yeah, laundromats are hard to beat, because your only real operating costs are bills and maintenance on the machines.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

I mean, the owner can choose to re-key it. But there are only a few manufacturers for them. Most laundromats use Speed Queen machines, for instance. And the manufacturer ships them with a single universal key, so the owner isn’t left juggling like forty different keys for a single laundromat. If every machine had a unique key, the owners would need to have a bunch of different keys just to service everything at the end of the day.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Yup, definitely hire a specialist for it. Those springs are under hundreds of pounds of tension, and if they get loose they will split you open like a bullwhip hitting an orange.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Yeah, keto got popular because many people lost a lot of weight doing it. And so they naturally attributed the weight loss to the lack of carbs. But in reality, the diet only works because it actually forces you to watch what you’re eating. When you have to think “does this have carbs or sugar” for every single snack, you suddenly snack a lot less. Because the overwhelming answer of “of course it fucking does, it’s a mass produced snack.” When your only options are “make something yourself instead of eating pre-packaged junk” or “don’t snack” a lot of people will opt to skip the snack.

Basically, keto works because by eliminating carbs you’re also eliminating snacking, and are actually forced to track what you eat. At the end of the day it’s just calories in<calories out.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

There’s also the fact that liberal protests don’t tend to be armed, (sort of goes hand-in-hand with liberals hating guns,) but white supremacist protests tend to be heavily armed. People noticed during the civil rights era that unarmed protests got violently busted; Cops had no qualms about firing into unarmed crowds to get them to disperse.

But heavily armed protests were politely watched from across the street. Because if you fire into an armed crowd, you may take out two or three protestors but then the entire rest of the protest can return fire.

This is exactly why the Black Panthers got started. People recognized that armed protests were allowed to continue, so they began arming protestors.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,
  1. Thou shalt not show up to church just to eat all the Jeez-Its and drink all the wine, then awkwardly leave after drunkenly asking the pastor’s daughter if she wants to bang in the belfry
PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

I mean, she’s a public defender. He’s lucky she’s making any arguments at all. Most public defenders are so busy that they only have time to do the bare minimum “make sure all the paperwork is properly filed” effort. They don’t really have time to make long drawn out legal battles in court, because they have nine other cases to argue later that day. They also can’t lie in court because that’s an ethics violation. So she can’t just use the Shaggy “it wasn’t me” defense to try and convince a jury he didn’t do it.

If I had to take a guess, this argument is actually coming from him, and she’s basically making the argument to the best of her ability. I doubt a plea deal was offered, because they caught him red handed and it’s an extremely high profile case; The prosecutor is likely going to try and make an example out of him. So she likely didn’t have the opportunity to push him to take a plea deal. And she can’t mount a major legal battle. So this is her “fuck it, I guess we’ll ensure his legal rights are upheld” effort.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Don’t feel too bad; He’ll inevitably get a cushy job as a lobbyist, where he can leverage his existing connections to further influence politics while staying out of the spotlight. The politician>lobbyist pipeline is extremely apparent, and it’s basically a revolving door where politicians exit, throw on a “lobbyist” hat, and walk right back inside.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, (edited )

I mean, it all came to light because of a rape allegation. The investigation was what uncovered the entire thing, where they found tens of thousands of (potentially non-consensual) videos of their threesomes. And no, that number isn’t an exaggeration; Investigators found nearly 30k videos. So even the “consensual” part is dubious at best.

The lady who accused him of rape only consented because she thought it was going to be a threesome. Then Bridget backed out, so the lady said she wasn’t interested anymore. But Christian still showed up and had sex with her while she was drunk.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

It’s certainly illegal. But Louisiana is in the fifth circuit court of appeals, which is hilariously conservative. That’s the same court that covers Texas, and a few other southern states. Packing the fifth circuit with conservatives was a large part of the Southern Strategy. Now the appeals court is packed with hardline conservative judges. Whenever you hear about appeals courts being blatantly biased for conservatives, it’s almost always the fifth circuit.

So yeah, it’s illegal. But even if Louisiana courts strike it down, the fifth circuit appeals judge will likely reinstate it as soon as it crosses their desk.
