I was out in the garden when a dude waked by. One of us waved, I don’t remember which, and the other waved back, sort of neighborly one hand up for a second wave. By the time he crosses the bush, he has turned back to cross my (luckily fairly large) yard, walking towards me. I run inside, and lock the door and yell at my SO to come downstairs there was a scary man at the door. SO confronts the man while I hide. Dude makes up a story about how someone yelled at him from our balcony, and he thought it was his friend. SO says he doesn’t believe him, and he better not show his face around here again if he wants to make it home alive.
But have you considered that’s what the “power-players” want you to think? Then, you won’t know to build rockets for yourselves and steal the resources!
Pretty sure that’s what republicans want - private schools for the rich, and whatever the poor can afford. And hey, if you’re schools too shitty, you could always start working at 14.
I get what you’re saying, but I’m trying to parse what is actual “things that can / will happen under a Trump presidency” vs “what the democrats and liberal media want us to think can / will happen under a Trump presidency”. I’m likely voting Biden simply because I saw what a shitshow the Supreme Court became (and will be for quite some time) under a Trump presidency. But I also notice Biden did fuck all about it so part of me wonders if the democrats are doing nothing for the simple fact that they have a fearmongering device setting the up for the next election. I mean, honestly the state of politics in the US is just pathetic.
I thought it was worth the praise - well thought out, well written, and something that never occurred to me before. Maybe this is the wrong comm or maybe others thought it wasn’t.
I would say that our assessment of your stability comes from you dumping a bunch of baggage on internet strangers in a double checks - yep mildly interesting comm post. Seems like you’ve gone though a lot of shit in your life, and idk maybe you’re not neurotypical, but you need to slow the confession time down. All I came in this post with was the “mildly interesting” fact that your kid refused your wii. I thought the DNA comment in the body of the post was a joke. Now I’m waist deep in a telanovela that I did not tune in to. Use some discretion, or tell the whole story but maybe not here.
And your posts continue to convince me that you’re unstable. I’m not sure if you know, but this is a light-hearted community and you’re up in here fighting people. It’s weird, and if you don’t believe me then check the downvotes. I’m not trying to be confrontational, I’m trying to clue you in to what’s going on.
Have you ever read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglass Adams? How long do we have to vote for the “right” lizard so the wrong lizard doesn’t get in? When do we get to vote for a human? And why is it that people like you continually tell me that I have to vote for genocide - that there’s no other choice, either genocide or fascist genocide? When do I get to choose? When is the literal future of democracy no longer on the line?
This is where most leftists who refuse to vote for Biden are coming from. Do they pull the lever and participate in the system even if their vote would lead to continued genocide? Or do they remain a bystander and let the chips fall where they may, knowing they did not vote for genocide in any form?
When we participate in a rigged system, doesn’t it just give the system legitimacy? When we don’t participate in a rigged system, are we complicit in what happens? The trolly problem says no: you didn’t put those people on the tracks; you don’t have the power to stop the train and save everyone. You only have a choice: participate and save more lives than you (personally) chose to take or don’t participate and remind yourself that the system put these people on the track to begin with.
The nuance is that if they built the homeless shelters that are needed, there wouldn’t be “needles in the park and angry homeless people shouting” problems as the article states, because they wouldn’t be in the park where kids play. I get that you’re saying “some people don’t understand what it’s like to live with the burden, danger, and discomfort of homeless people,” but there is no argument for these bans that will ever be just imo.
If it’s like the Midwest, I’m sure there’s a fucking empty ass mall or warehouse or dealership somewhere they can turn into a homeless shelter if one fucking capitalist would just hand it over to the public instead of holding on to it to owe less taxes.
