The clash over bathroom policy and other elements of a federal regulation finalized last week could set the stage for another wave of legal battles over how transgender kids should be treated in the U.S.
Solution? No one needs to hang out in the bathrooms, anyway. America needs to end the culture of cliques hanging around the sinks in the bathrooms, waiting to start a verbal confrontation with people that are also using the bathroom. Why does the bathroom need to be in a room? It isn’t a social lounge.
I know it isn’t glamorous, but the fights around the sinks would end:
I spent my childhood using port-o-potties during summer athletic events/tournaments, with weather that was above 105F. In the winter, I played on travel sports teams that practiced in places that had no other bathroom facility except port-o-potties. Sometimes the weather was around 32F during those winter mornings. So, yeah, I guess I’m saying you’ll survive it.
Another alternative is to build single stall bathrooms that have a door which opens into the main hallway of the school. Many schools have already built these for faculty use. It’s just a small room that contains one toilet, one sink, and has ac/heat for climate control. They would need an entire wing of these for student use, to accommodate everyone, but at least there wouldn’t be a large open room for students to congregate and cause fights. No one is going to be beating another student’s head against a sink, or the floor, in a single occupant bathroom.

Oh, and all this is happening right at the same time as a serious pet emergency occurred. It’s like punishment for buying a used car to get to work each day.
I’ve heard of that, but I paid the registration fees at the dealership. I paid for 6 months, according to what they told me. My current registration is supposed to be good until August since the dealership paid for registration in February. The registration should be transferred over to my name, though. That’s the part that is making me worry.
I didn’t realize that. Wow. He keeps avoiding conversation about the vet bills. He avoided the link to PayPal when I sent it to him. I figured he was just neglecting the cat, but as I reflect more about my own childhood and being raised by him, I can see your point. He hates having responsibility at all. He puts on a good image to everyone around him, outside of the family, but the whole family knows how he really is. You’re right. Maybe he did that intentionally.
I thought someone shot him with a BB, or a pellet. There are wounds on both sides of his face. One vet said it looked like a cat bite, another said a dog bite, and then the last one wasn’t sure. I have been fundraising since this weekend on PayPal to afford his medical expenses.
Is your cat okay after that? Thats extreme to remove it without telling you, or obtaining your consent first. What was their explanation for that? Can your cat chew food now?
Thanks. I hope so, too. His face isn’t oozing puss and blood anymore. He was still bleeding at today’s vet appointment, but it was considerably less. I think he’s improving, but this new dental issue just threw a curveball at me.
Thank you. I appreciate your input. I’m going to ask another vet for a second opinion. I can’t agree to having nearly all of his teeth pulled knowing it is going to affect his eating habits afterward, too. I want to know which ones are absolutely necessary to pull. It seems extreme.
I’m going to need time to process that last part. I am really attached to Blue at this point. He has gone from being my relative’s cat for whom I began providing care, to my evening lap velcro. I want was is best for Blue, but this is at least his second home since the shelter, and like I said, I am very attached to him now. Can I rehome Dad?
UPDATE: Dad claims he never set the aspirin on the desk. When asked about it, again, this morning, he said, “where did that come from?!?” He acted like he honestly didn’t remember setting the aspirin on the desk. I reminded him that I found it sitting there, in a pile, when I arrived home the other day. I told him that I didn’t put the asprin there, and that it must have been him since he was home during the morning and part of the afternoon. A couple of weeks ago he had some type of mini stroke and couldn’t remember where he was for about an hour. Maybe leaving the aspirin out wasn’t intentional. I want to have him evaluated by a psychiatrist, or a psychologist.
Someone needs to report these people to social services. They’re going to end up with some criminal taking an interest in this ad, at best. Who wants that job, if they aren’t family or close friends with the person posting it? Probably some child predator, unfortunately. I wouldn’t be surprised if people like this left their kids at home alone, after not finding a babysitter. I can’t stand people like that.

That’s sad, because you know if they neutered the stray males, there wouldn’t be so many injured cats from cat fights. Pictures from Turkey make it look like stray cats are fine in communities like those, and maybe they are in some places, but whenever there are stray males in groups, they’re going to fight if they aren’t neutered. Our cat was neutered and something attacked him. I don’t even have an explanation for that, except that some stray, or something found its way into our neighborhood.
I understand what you mean. I always feel guilty having an animal neutered, or spayed, but when it’s your animal and you can’t afford to have them litter, it’s another story. I once adopted a cat that as already pregnant with a litter of kittens that died in utero. I told the vet to just spay her after that. My fiancé, at the time, felt so bad that he went out to a rescue and bought a kitten to keep her company while we both worked during the day. It probably didn’t make it up to her entirely. I get that.
