Poayjay,

It was a ballot initiative for an amendment. It was presented directly to voters. It was written so that voters could understand it.

Poayjay,

In what world would it ever be ok for a Supreme Court justice to buy and sell individual stocks?

Poayjay,

You didn’t spend hours trying to beat asylum demon with a broken straight sword? That’s as far as I got my first play through. I randomly was recommended a ds1 speed running video on YouTube years later and I realized I could have just run past.

Poayjay,

That’s what most people fail to realize about the us elections. Literally nothing matters but voter turnout. Every election with high turnout goes to democrats. You’re not going to convince any Trump supporters to suddenly vote Biden. It’s Biden vs voter apathy, not Biden vs trump. Republicans know this, that’s why they are always pushing the “both-sides” bs. Having abortion and pot on the ballot make Florida very winnable.

Poayjay,

My wife has a cricut. It’s a little CNC plotter table that can make custom stickers, signs, and whatnot with a very clean UI. They are pretty popular with the stay-at-home mom crowd. If you know a better way to high quality color prints on specialty papers I’d love to hear it. I know that sounds sarcastic, but I mean that with absolutely zero sarcasm. Please tell me.

Judge rejects Donald Trump's request to delay hush-money trial until Supreme Court rules on immunity (apnews.com)

A judge on Wednesday rejected Donald Trump’s bid to delay his April 15 hush money criminal trial until the Supreme Court rules on presidential immunity claims he raised in another of his criminal cases — spurning another of the former president’s ploys to put off the historic trial. Several more are pending....

Poayjay,

So now he’s claiming that he had presidential immunity before he was president too?

Poayjay,

As an OG DW fan I hope this isn’t a repeat of 9, but I’m not optimistic. “1 v 1000” and “realism” are two completely different things.

Poayjay,

Literally my first job out of college. We were hybrid, and the amount you had to come in was based on your seniority. Most days it was just me on an empty floor. “Meeting” people was doing shitheads favors so they wouldn’t have to come in to the office.

Poayjay,

Uninvited visitors are the real world version of a pop up ad. They get zero consideration from me

Newberg School District parents call for superintendent to step down after learning of budget shortfall (www.kgw.com)

Newberg has been the center of a political maelstrom over the last few years, beginning with a conservative majority on the school board banning political symbols, pointedly targeting Black Lives Matter and Pride flags....

Poayjay,

It’s always nice to see my shitty little hometown making national headlines for incompetence and bigotry.

A little background you won’t get from anywhere else about newberg:

It was a sleepy little town of about 15,000 in the Portland metro area. It had some decent jobs (it’s actually the dental equipment manufacture’s western hub). Over time the cost of living there has exploded. It is within commuting distance of Wilsonville (Oregon’s tech hub) and Hillsboro (Nike/Intel). It is wine country as well. The locals are getting priced out of the area. As expected, when people feel they are getting left behind by society they turn to conservatism. Now you see the results of that. Conservative grifters promised more than they could ever deliver and wasted needed resources fighting losing ideological battles.

It makes me sad :(

Poayjay,

The first step in “no longer relevant celebrity comes out as conservative to cling to the fringes of stardom.”

Poayjay,

I hope some idiots show up in MAGA hats and immediately get dismissed

Poayjay,

Yeah it looks like the Tesla meme is over. Their production caught up with the tail end of early adapter demand. Regular consumers won’t tolerate bullshit like this:

“three months of free Full-Self Driving beta to help move cars. (Reminder that FSD can’t actually fully drive for you.”

All the resources that went into the cyber truck should have been making a new flagship or economy model instead of another meme. Tech bros are moving on the new shiny thing (everything ai) and hopefully this is the beginning of the decent of musk into obscurity.

Poayjay,

It’s weird seeing a picture of the pope where he doesn’t have the silliest hat.

Poayjay,

I don’t know about your claim that they are inherently unsafe. With fixed wheels, three-wheelers are prone to tipping. I agree with that. With this model they are claiming that it “leans.” It makes sense to me with a clever enough suspension they could solve that issue.

Poayjay,

I don’t understand the 3 wheel hate. 2 wheel vehicles have a learning curve with counter-steering and require more engagement with driving. 4 wheels makes them huge. I don’t think this looks too dorky either.

Poayjay,

Same story as everyone else. Bought pre-covid, refinanced, now sitting pretty. We desperately want to move, but I would have to make like $50k more a year for the same quality of life.

Poayjay,

Same statement except he should say that it would be legal for him to kill 6 Supreme Court justices.

Poayjay,

I was a nuclear operator in the Navy. Here are the actual reasons:

  1. The designs are classified US military assets
  2. They are not refuleable
  3. They only come in 2 “sizes”: aircraft carrier and submarine
  4. They are not scaleable. You can just make a reactor 2x as big
  5. They require as much down time as up time
  6. They are outdated
  7. The military won’t let you interrupt their supply chain to make civilian reactors
  8. New designs over promise and underdeliver
  9. They are optimized for erratic operations (combat) not steady state (normal power loads)
  10. They are engineered assuming they have infinite sea water available for everything

There’s more but that’s just off the top of my head

Poayjay,

That’s the huge take away here. The Chinese can’t comprehend that the DOD doesn’t have a social media control division. Yes we have the NSA and stuff spying, but they don’t control anything.

Poayjay,

Judge shopping in Texas. Followed by an outrageously unconstitutional ruling. Then a 2 year wait for the Supreme Court to look at it. Sigh

Poayjay,

Don’t worry office creeps who make unwanted advances towards coworkers, LinkedIn has your back. A new harassment platform for a new age.
