Wow, literally the first sentence and already this article is full of shit.

His reputation is set in stone already. No matter what the jury decides he will appeal, and keep appealing until there’s no one left to appeal to. He will not drop out of the race even if he is jailed (spoiler alert, he won’t be), but assuming hell freezes over he’ll still get at least 40 million votes.

Fuck articles like this. Why even post this click-bait trash!?

For the last century, it’s been commonplace

We said this a ton during Obama’s time in office. Look where we are now. Expecting things today to play out like they did in the past just seems extremely naive now.

You’re talking about the Federal level, which has nothing to do with the DNC’s current problem in Ohio. They’ve been running around all year trying to change the order in which the states vote. So far, most all of them have told the DNC to pound sand, including Ohio. This deadline did not spring up out of nowhere, and it’s only a problem because of the DNC’s poor planning.

Seriously what was the plan? Ignore the deadlines and expect a last-minute exception to be made? I’m not singing the praises of the Ohio GOP, and I agree they’re being dicks about this, but who really caused this problem? Ohio didn’t set the DNCC date. States run their elections how they want. A federal officer coming in and saying “No, do it this way because we said so” isn’t how the this system was intended to function.

So an 8% increase for Biden? Hard to view that as a negative.

I’m happy to take several steps back if that’s what it takes to take a step forward

I don’t think this woman truly understands what it would mean to go back several steps. Or she just thinks those steps back won’t affect her in any way. Wish I could be that oblivious to the world around me.

PseudorandomNoise,

Sure and I imagine most all of that decline is due to the Israel/Gaza war. That he’s gained 8% back since it started, while being heavily criticized for his handling of it, seems like a win.

WATCHING being the key word there. She’s not living through it. This is happening half a world away and she’s willing to make this even worse? Does she think Trump’s new travel ban (which he’s gone on record as saying will be brought back) will have an exception for her family? Does she think Trump will suddenly say “Actually I was joking when I said ‘finish the job’”?

It should have not gotten to be this bad, it shouldn’t repeat

No one is arguing against this, especially not around here.

The fact that nothing works and the choice won’t matter, means they are better off hiding in public than caring about you Americans dumb little election.

The choice won’t matter to me because I’m an upper-middle-class, Jewish, Millennial, white male. However, not everyone has the luxury of acting like the choice doesn’t matter. It just blows my mind how there are folks who want to support Palestinians but refuse to see a difference between the 2 major candidates.

Despite concerns about accuracy and potential misuse, facial recognition technology seems poised for a surge in popularity. California-based restaurant CaliExpress by Flippy now allows customers to pay for their meals with a simple scan of their face, showcasing the potential of facial payment technology.

Oh boy, I can’t wait to be charged for someone else’s meal because they look just enough like me to trigger a payment.

Bibi has clearly demonstrated he doesn’t give 2 shits what Biden thinks. We have 3 branches with equal power and one of them keeps inviting Netanyahu to give speeches. Why should he listen to Biden when Congress approves military spending regardless?

All well and good for Enterprise folks I guess, but what about home users?

PseudorandomNoise,
@PseudorandomNoise@lemmy.world avatar

Um… then what is it intended for? ATMs and POS terminals don’t really strike me as IoT devices.

Here you have no recourse options

I can’t speak for every University, but some have a way for you to appeal issues like this to the Dean.

Microsoft starts bundling Windows 11 with its 'PC optimizer' app in some regions (www.neowin.net)

PC optimizers are not a new concept, and they have been around for quite a while. Nowadays, many consider them unnecessary, but having an official program made by Microsoft that is capable of (allegedly) speeding up your PC may sound quite appealing....

PseudorandomNoise,
@PseudorandomNoise@lemmy.world avatar

Something MS should’ve done decades ago. Why should the user have to clean up and optimize their PC? It only needs that because your OS is dirty and inefficient, so it should be on you to fix it.

Same argument for AVs being built-in. If it’s unsafe to use your OS on the internet that’s a failing on your part and you should see to it that doesn’t happen.

Tell them Canada and Mexico will close their borders if it happens. See if they still think war is a good idea when it’s in their neighborhood and there’s no escape.

LTT has social media accounts everywhere. They could’ve uploaded to floatplane and posted that link instead.

Not that I blame him for using YouTube but it’s the same chicken and egg problem we’ve had for awhile. No one uses alternatives because the creators aren’t there, and they’re not there because viewers aren’t either.

There’s plenty of games that require deep and extensive thought. I just wanna jump on turtles and fix this spaceship before I get tossed out of the airlock.

Don’t you need specific CPUs for these AI features? If so, how is this going to work on the machines that don’t support it?

PseudorandomNoise,
@PseudorandomNoise@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah most people don’t care to maintain a local music library. It’s a lot of work and compared to streaming services that do it for you this offers no real benefit. If you listen to lots of new/different music all the time, streaming is actually far cheaper.

PseudorandomNoise,

People make up for it by buying merch or going to shows. Margins on those things are much better for the artists.

Can we please stop adding “After 28 years” to every article and video about this game?

Republican National Committee’s headquarters evacuated after vials of blood are addressed to Trump (apnews.com)

The Republican National Committee’s Washington headquarters was briefly evacuated on Wednesday as police investigated two vials of blood that had been addressed to former President Donald Trump following the presumptive presidential nominee’s takeover of the national party apparatus....

PseudorandomNoise,
@PseudorandomNoise@lemmy.world avatar

I’m just gonna assume Trump has a blood boy and he missed a session so the kid had to mail in the vials.

Most of those other types of phones aren’t around anymore because nobody bought them. Sure, small phones are great and I even had a 13 mini, but I’m one of like 20 people who bought it. I’ve never ever seen a sliding keyboard phone in the wild, just on YouTube. Same for those other more eclectic devices. The market has spoken, and it said “giant slabs of glass please”.
