Correct, which is exactly the same thing the Zionist Federation of Germany did during WWII. They sold out their own people in order to keep much of their assets while beginning the process of annexing British Mandatory Palestine.

Make no mistake, these same Zionists went on to form Lehi, among other terrorist/militant organizations that share a direct link to modern day Likud. Every policy the modern right wing Israeli government has employed they borrowed directly from the Third Reich’s playbook.

They are literally genocidal, ethno-supremacist, crypto-fascist psycopaths. In no way is that hyperbole. They are essentially Israeli Nazi’s.

January 6 Is Exactly What the Fourteenth Amendment Was Talking About | And ignoring its clear dictate is a dangerous choice to make. (www.theatlantic.com)

As the Colorado Supreme Court wrote, January 6 meets the bar for insurrection “under any viable definition” of the term. The legal scholar Mark Graber, who has closely studied the Fourteenth Amendment’s history, argues that “insurrection” should be understood broadly—an act of organized resistance to government...

As a matter of technicality, you are both legally and historically illiterate. Based on this argument a trial court would have to rule on whether every single presidential candidate was over the age of 35, and a natural born citizen in order to qualify for office. That is OBVIOUSLY not the case as those provisions are self-executing. It is also obvious that based on the plain language of the constitution that the 14th Ammendment is self-executing as well. It is another LEGALLY STIPULATED PRECONDITION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFICE.

However, many members of the current Supreme Court have made it clear that they consider both law and precedent to be entirely permeable, despite their strongly worded assertions to the contrary. So because of that, I also expect them to put forth some novel legal theory as to why they must go against their own publicly stated legal philosophies to allow Trump to stay on the ballot, history and precedent be damned.

Oh no, I understand just fine. They are rigging the system to create an entire generation if ignorant wage slave voters regardless of whether they have the means to attain higher education or not. This in turn creates a cycle that is incredibly hard to break, and that has far reaching repercussions on the electorate for years to come.

They want to make sure students in Florida aren’t indoctrinated with facts supported by evidence because that’s fucking woke.

That’s literally the definition of indoctrination, which is ironic considering that is what they are purportedly trying to prevent.

Riccosuave,
@Riccosuave@lemmy.world avatar

This is all painfully common knowledge.

I’m not trying to discount or undermine your main points because I think they are entirely accurate. However, I think you are vastly overestimating how informed, intelligent, and empathetic the average US citizen is. I would be shocked if half the country was even broadly aware of what was going on in Gaza enough to even have an opinion about it, let alone be outraged.

Joe Biden could also just revoke Donald Trump’s citizenship, which would then make him ineligible for office, and then deport him from the country. That would be simultaneously effective, and also completely hilarious.

Riccosuave,
@Riccosuave@lemmy.world avatar

This is doubtful. The Supreme Court fully understands that ruling the President has absolute immunity will serve to permanently undermine their own power. There is no material benefit to the Supreme Court in waiting to rule on this case, and every reason for them to make a hasty decision affirming the lower courts finding or simply refusing to hear the case altogether. Regardless of their own personal politics, it is extremely unlikely that the Supreme Court will make ANY rulings that serve to undermine or limit the authority of the judiciary.

This was my initial reaction as well, but now I’m not so sure. Somebody has to be the public example, and fight this broken system. This has gotten a large amount of national media exposure, and that is ultimately what mobilizes voters. She also seems willing to suffer for her convictions, which is more than most people can say.

Netanyahu says deadly Israeli strike in Rafah was the result of a 'tragic mistake' (apnews.com)

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that a “tragic mistake” was made in an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah that set fire to a camp housing displaced Palestinians and, according to local officials, killed at least 45 people....

Riccosuave,
@Riccosuave@lemmy.world avatar

It was a mistake. The mistake was the US not cutting all ties with Israel immediately.

Riccosuave,
@Riccosuave@lemmy.world avatar

You must be fucking confused if you think Netanyahu is Joe Biden’s “attack dog”. The Israeli government has spent the last 40+ years successfully coopting the United States government.

What do you think those shifty mother fuckers would be doing in an election year if he came out against them? I agree they need to he brought to heel, but if you think that is going to happen given the existing externalities of global & US politics then you are living in a fantasy.

As much as I despise Hillary Clinton, in hindisght I have to give the bitch her flowers for calling out Tulsi as a backdoor Russian asset. At the time I thought that was her just beating the war drums, and posturing because of her own political weakness. But every day that goes by it looks more and more plausible given the serious, nefarious nature of Russian interference in the US political system. At the end of the day though, her motivations are irrelevant. Anybody who supports Donald Trump is the enemy, and they are dead to me for life. Fuck Tulsi Gabbard.

Where did I say “Jews”? Please point that out for the whole class. Unlike you, I am able to effectively differentiate the political entity of Israel from the socio-religious culture of the global Jewish diaspora.

I am also aware that IDF tactics have repeatedly included the use of covert terrorist attacks that have then been blamed on other groups to justify their own ends. Additionally the Israeli military already set a precedent for this by attacking the United States military in a similar fashion during the Six Days War.

So, no, I do not trust Israel will not use the IDF to destroy infrastructure in order to continue blocking aid from reaching the Gazans who desperately need it.

How can someone do something so austere, not even send a simple polite text or even a mean text before going straight to the authorities like an rat?

I want to address this point because it is the one where I felt you needed the most perspective. It is also central to everything else you asked here. One of the steps in the maturation process is learning how to empathize, and to consider things from someone else’s perspective even when that is uncomfortable. Another piece of that is learning to avoid taking things personally, and to stop thinking in terms of people doing things to you.

We judge others by their actions, and ourselves by our intentions. Try to give people the benefit of the doubt by not assigning motivations to their actions because the truth is we don’t know what someone’s else’s motivations are. Generally speaking, what other people are thinking is none of our fucking business.

In terms of empathy, it is important to realize that for most of human history social interaction was an inherently vulnerable activity for women. Some women want to be friendly as a cultural norm, but may also be extremely averse to conflict due to fear of reprisal or violence. This is not inherently a reflection on you, and you have no idea what the other person’s lived experience might be. They may have have been the victim of sexual violence, child abuse, or other trauma. You just have no idea, and again it is not your business.

In this case they made the decision to handle the situation administratively because that is what they were comfortable with. Your comment about them being a rat is based on your own misplaced anger and shame. That is not a healthy reaction to have, and you need to learn to give yourself grace. Forgive yourself because we all make mistakes. It is how we respond to our mistakes, and what we learn from them that matters.

Perhaps you were being a bit overbearing because you weren’t in the healthiest frame of mind at the time, and were looking for genuine human contact to help curtail those emotions. You need to forgive yourself for that. Shit happens. It does not make you a bad person to have misjudged a situation just as it does not make the other person bad for asserting boundaries in a way they were comfortable with.

Let me say this, accepting and asserting healthy boundaries is the foundation of every lasting and healthy adult relationship. You need to get comfortable with that, and really chew on it until you understand what that means as well as what that looks like. It is great you are in therapy and looking to grow emotionally as a person. Use that time to evaluate that topic of boundaries as it is the tool that will improve your relationships more than any other in my experience.

Regarding the more personal questions you rased about the guilt and pain you are feeling: It is time to set down that burden. You need to give yourself permission to be vulnerable too. The best way out of pain is to walk through it, and not to wallow in it. It is easy to stay stuck, to stay in pain once that is what you have become accustomed to. Misery is like a security blanket. We become comfortable and complacent. We choose not to take chances, and give ourselves permission not to grow. It is a devious mental trap.

To walk through the pain is to accept your mistakes, take accountability for your part in them, forgive yourself for them, and realize that one moment in time does not reflect the totality of who you are today. You are doing the work to grow, so give yourself credit for that. Give yourself the permission to make mistakes again, and to be happy anyway. No state is permanent, and no relationship is ever going to be anywhere close to perfect. People are messy. ALL OF THEM, EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE. So as we get older we (hopefully) learn how to get better at dealing with the mess. You gotta love yourself first as cliche as it is, and that means not taking anything too seriously. Live your life, fuck up here and there, love the highs and appreciate the learning experience of the lows. Stay sober, and challenge yourself always. If you do that you’ll be okay.

Hopefully some of my ramblings here have been helpful or insightful in some way. If not, well, I did my best, and I ain’t perfect either friend. I’ve done a lot of bad shit in my life, and I’ve seen a lot of bad shit too. But I love life all the same. It is a wild ride, and I am thankful to be on it because I know it will be over in the blink of an eye.

I will leave you with this: “We are but a speck of dust, and yet the whole universe may depend on us…”

Does "Rock music is evil / of the devil" have racist roots?

As a Christian most of the circles I’m around are pretty chill…no stone-cold fundamentalists. But I have been around people (and even had family members) who are 100% convinced that rock music is evil and will lead people to engage in witchcraft and draw pentagrams all over their home....

The core of Abrahamic religion is based around an in-group / out-group ideology. When you dove-tail off that premise it is clear that Abrahamic religion uses labelism such as “evil” or “from the devil” in order to obfuscate their suppression and opression of the out-group.

Democrats won the battle (ie, reclaiming presidency) but have lost the war.

I agree, and I think the scarier reality is this, if Donald Trump gets back into office the following things will occur:

  • He will force Roberts, Thomas, and Alito to step down during his presidency so he can guarantee indefinite control of the court for the next 40-50 years.
  • Once that is done his cronies will set up whatever legal challenges are necessary before the court to guarantee federal oversight of the elections in swing states.
  • They will be firing the majority of the Federal Employees, and will begin strategically staffing vacancies from their ranks in positions that allow them to commit economic warfare on states who do not submit to their will.

I don’t think people really understand how bad this can get, and how fast it can get there. The level of economic slavery they can impose in 4 years with the kind of shrewd, competent, and abjectly evil sociopaths that are lying in wait this time around is going to blow people’s fucking minds.

I’m not attacking her for being female.

I’m attacking her for being a perpetually self-serving grifter who has repeatedly abused the public trust in an attempt to cash in on her Jerry Springer-esque freakshow popularity at the expense of American democracy.

But sure, go ahead and stand up for her. I’m sure she won’t mind stepping on your head on her way up to her overpaid position at OAN or Newsmax once she tanks her election next year.

They used a mask rather than the more appropriate method which would be to use a sealed chamber that was forcefully evacuated of oxygen and replaced by nitrogen the way the suicide pods are supposed to function.

The problem with a mask is it can’t be a perfectly sealed system. The issue with the execution from a logistical standpoint was the redneck engineering they employed and not the actual science behind nitrogen hypoxia.

Please don’t come at me, I’m not making a value judgment about the use of the death penalty, I’m just explaining the issue with their shoddy ass methodology.

Edit: accidentally a word.

Edit #2 (YouTube Link): Here is some additional information about why a gas mask is an ineffective and dangerous way to conduct an execution via nitrogen hypoxia from Dr. Philip Nitschke, a leading advocate of the right to die movement and an expert in the field of voluntary euthanasia. He personally examined the execution method being used in Alabama, and told them he felt it would be ineffective for many of the same reasons stated above.
