RoundSparrow,

I'm running into the problem mentioned 2 months ago on Reddit with trying to install via docker. I'm on Ubuntu Server.

https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/12rvfcq/comment/jh2gdu8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

RoundSparrow,

Ok, looking at it after it was committed:

https://github.com/Just-Insane/lemmy-docs/blob/614ec9e61e45fa943b46613b07a40f414462c8f7/src/en/administration/install_docker.md

The instructions are not very clear on the proxy setup. It kind of hand-waves a suggested config after the "To make Lemmy available outside the server, you need to set up a reverse proxy, like Nginx. You can use the following simple proxy:" preface, but is not really specific which file this goes in. Is this appended to the nginx.conf?

Thank you

Has there been discussion of using OAuth 2? People could use their Google or even WIkipedia login (if you wanted a less-corporate provider).

RoundSparrow,

I'm curious about people starting up: Are you storing images on your own site with this instance?

Search engine exposure. For technical topics (cars, computers, whatever), information topics (example: such as discussing a TV show, book, music band or film)...

Twitter and Reddit are often pretty good at getting postings and comments onto Google Search results so that you can find past conversations about a specific topic.

Discord is the kind of social media site where I almost never find anyone link specific content or get hits on a search engine.

RoundSparrow,

It would seem nice to have an instance of Lemmy that focus on TV shows, films, music, bands, comics, etc

I'm watching the SIlo TV series currently (new episode today), etc.

Anyone working on this?
