Have you confirmed if qBit deploys properly without a VPN enable? If so, you could go into qBit without the vpn and try disabling the “Use UPnP / NAT-PMP port forwarding from my router” in Tools > Options > Connection, then try deploying it again.
Hey! For a while now I’ve been using Tailscale to access some of my apps in TrueNAS Scale remotely. Since I also want to be able to access my SMB shares on Truenas, I have so far always resorted to setting both Tailscale and the corresponding apps to using host networking....
Hmm… are you using the community version of Tailscale? Since, I’ve never had to enable host networking for any of my apps, and I’ve been able to access all of them through Truecharts Tailscale app while still retaining access to my SMB shares. Also, this may sound silly, but have you double-checked your routes in the Tailscale app?
Greetings. Today I discovered the world of theming Firefox through something called CSS. I went to the store page, and I wanted to add the Opera GX theme. Therefore, I first enabled the legacy toolkit config in the about:config page. Then, I went to the UserChrome.css file found on github for that theme and copied the raw data....
After looking around, you might be facing an issue with Flatpak permissions. Here’s a comment I found on Reddit created by u/avamk where they solved the same issue.
All right, after much trying I installed Flatseal and enabled the Firefox Flatpak’s access to my home folder.
After this, it created the expected profile folder under ~/.mozilla/firefox/. I put my custom userChrome.css into that profile folder, and >enabled it in my about:config under toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets per these instructions.
With all of these, the custom userChrome.css is finally working!
Started an update for a minor version and it’s been like 20 minutes and I have no display out from the nas and I can’t access it over the network. This is the first update I’ve done on the system how long does this usually take and when should I try rebooting it?
Usually when I update it takes no more than 5 minutes max, although I’ve never timed the reboot process. Note, it’s going to depend on your hardware. I’d say, though, if it’s been a decent amount of time, and you haven’t gotten any sign of it responding (after pinging it, checking the systems’ indicator lights, etc.), I’d probably plug a monitor into it and reboot the machine.
As someone else has pointed out, it really depends on your use case. Although I personally keep my drives (SSD & HDD) in a redundant RAID configuration as my data is largely mission-critical.
I’ve been using TrueNAS Scale for a while now, but have never actually come across any official documentation/repository/possibility to file bug reports for TrueNAS Scale apps marked as “Official” in the available applications (e.g. Plex Media Server, Home Assistant, etc). Have I just miraculously missed it or do these...
Also I highly recommend using Truecharts app catalog. They have an extensive list of apps available, and the support on their discord is excellent, in my opinion, although they also appear to be lacking in the documentation department mostly.
Im running true nas with i think 12 gigabytes of ram, i will upgrade soon, an i just upgraded the cpu to an amd fx 6350 but it seems when i try to run any apps i can maximum run 1-2 apps and thats without nfs or anything else, and i have more free ram, and the cpu doesn’t seem to be overloaded at all...
What type of issues are you running into specifically, because while you may face some slow-downs if your system can’t handle the load, you should still be able to spin up multiple apps. If you’re just noticing a slow-down of one of your apps, you could try upping the limit in the resource limits section in the app.
From the logs you’ve provided, it appears the MariaDB server indicated a normal shutdown process without providing a specific reason for the shutdown initiation. So I’m assuming within your app it’s running multiple containers, would you be able to provide the log of the container that is running into an error that’s causing your app to call the shutdowns.
No worries, also to note there may be multiple pods as well as containers, so be sure to check those as well. Although, you can get a pretty good hint at which container is failing based on the application events log that you can first see when you click on the app.
I wanted to provide some screenshots in my last reply, but I was getting an error while trying to upload them, hopefully some of these might help to guide you.

So just like the title says. We're talking 5TB and more in overall data storage. I know zfs and TrueNAS is up for it but I wanted to hear from some real-world users to what are your thoughts and experience with multi terabyte storage for all the things in TrueNAS. SMB business production environments a plus. Also I can't help...
I wouldn't be concerned, 5TBs is pretty small for storage IMO from what I've seen from the average TrueNAS system, and I can't foresee you running into any issues directly related to only having 5TBs of space.
Regardless of which ever system you decided to go with, whether it be TrueNAS or otherwise, I'd always recommend having a 3-2-1 backup strategy in place (2 local & 1 remote) at the very least. And make sure to have those backups before making any big moves. I've had to do a decent amount of big moves in the past, and having those backups has saved my bacon more than a couple of times.
I just started watching the first EP and as soon as the opening credits started, I thought to myself hmm this looks really AI generated. While I have no qualms with AI generated material, they are going to have to get a lot better before it is ready for production, IMO.
You could just subscribe to the Patient Gamers community on whatever instance you move to, you wouldn't need to keep your sh.itjust.works account or anything.
I've just caught up on your other comments, and thanks for that proof in one of them. I knew your instance had some issues, but I hadn't realized it had gotten that bad. Best of luck with whatever instance you decide to move to.
At what point should I start worrying about my hard drive temps?/s (programming.dev)

With SSD storage, what what your thoughts on redundant storage devices (e.g RAID1), is it a waste, a nice to have or a must?...
