SolarPunker,

EA is garbage software, don’t buy these games, always prefer used console versions or pirate.

SolarPunker,

Arch user here. If you’d like to improve your skills and maintain your perfectly fitted distro Arch is a great pick, if you want something that just works forver without learning stuff, try something else; I also don’t recomend Arch-based distros for non-Arch user (manjaro, endeavour) since you’ll break these soon or later. Would be nice instead waiting for a good immutable Arch-based distro. Atomic desktops go brrr

SolarPunker,

Suggestion from an old Dota player: play better games. Mobas are just competitive stuff without artistic value.

Plus Steam Controller 2

Decentralizing the system of some plastic waste with these machines is really interesting. The price for obtaining a good machine is not very affordable and seems to require a demanding installation.

SolarPunker,

Can I sort albums by original date?

SolarPunker,

Sadly looks like you can’t sort albums by original date (y:mm:dd)

Newpipe is getting updates on fdroid again and seem like will be getting updates for the foreseeable future as the issue stopping it is solved. (lemmy.sdf.org)

Also on an unrelated note anyway to remove live from your subscribed channels update field ? Some channels are filling it with live so i have to really scroll down to see my video feeds and can’t find a setting to switch it off. Newpipe didn’t used to add live in your what’s new feed of subscribed channels, related pic .

SolarPunker,

I find Clipious (Invidious) generally faster and stable (you have to be subscribed to an instance to follow channels)

This community is the most important for videogames preservation

Think about it, Linux is the most future-proof OS, not threatened by companies or commercial interests, and the same can be said for Lemmy in the world of decentralized communication for topics of interest. Without these two things the preservation of video games would be greatly in danger.

SolarPunker,

This is actually a good point. I’m not involved in the project here but I think anyone who is should consider it.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek surprised by how much laying off 1,500 employees negatively affected the streaming giant’s operations (fortune.com)

When Spotify announced its largest-ever round of layoffs in December, CEO Daniel Ek hailed a new age of efficiency at the streaming giant. But four months on, it seems he and his executives weren’t prepared for how tough filling in for 1,500 axed workers would be....

SolarPunker,

At that level of wealth, concepts such as meritocracy (if ever it’s a positive term) are meaningless; let us still tell the fairy tale that capitalism rewards the best of us and not the recommended.

SolarPunker,

Consider your privacy, a Pixel with GrapheneOS is vastly suggested.

Hmm…looks like in my cores directory “/home/user/.config/retroarch/cores/” I only have .info files.

I’ll try to learn more about SRM, EmuDeck was also recommended to me.

SolarPunker,

Is it unusual to use retroarch via pacman and cores via RA utility?

Are you trying to get individual Roms to appear in steam as their own games? Does your command work outside of steam?

Yes both.

SolarPunker,

Thank you
