Idk if there have been enough case studies to draw any conclusions on the third point with a reasonable degree of certainty.

Get me clip board, I’m heading to the NICU.

  1. Does AWOL mean something other than “Absent without leave”? Cuz that’s a weird way to describe a computer algorithm.
  2. …aight so I’m definitely not a theologist, but… according to christianity, or catholocism specifically… is there actually any rule against using gatorade for a baptism? I’d assume it just says “water”, but there’s water in gatorade. Sure there’s also other shit in gatorade, but there’s other shit in tap water too. Even distilled water isn’t going to be 100% pure.

And if gatorade’s cool, where do they draw the line? Could you baptize a baby with honey? Or drop a steak onto the kid’s face (there’s water in those too!). Does it even have to be liquid water? Like what if you just threw some icecubes at the kid, or blasted some steam in its face??

So many questions!

the idea of “washing”, or “being washed”, so solid water or water in solids would not count.

You could make a solid (HA!) argument for exfoliative or percussive removal of debris from the kid’s head via scraping or knocking the nasty-bits free via the holy projectiles.

It’s better, cuz it’s got electrolytes.

It’s what souls crave!

So like, ice X at 60 gigapascals and -120 °C?

What’s the worse that could happen?

We’ve been through our share of "no way"s.

Boebert … Greene

Wait, aren’t those the same person who occasionally dons glasses and changes her wig/nametag?

Even taking it at face value, who cares?

Kids do dumb shit. Always have, always will.

If identifying as seasons gets the creative juices flowing or gives them a harmless source of entertainment, then more power to em.

What animated film or tv show is this? (i.imgur.com)

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don’t think it’s excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

The Aladdin live action remake was shat on mercilessly by the internet, but I thought it was a fun, true to the spirit of the original while introducing a few new ideas to keep it interesting, and (imo very respectfully) stayed out of Rob William’s lane by not trying to recreate his genie. And Will Smith did a great job with his version.

Oh wow. Already wasn’t a fan of Razer cuz their build quality went to shit, but this plants them firmly in malice territory.

I may have gotten lucky, but their first gen Naga was the best mouse I’ve ever had. Their stuff now feels like a happy-meal toy in comparison.

Sterile_Technique,
@Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world avatar

I got their first gen Naga and it was outstanding. Idk if I just got lucky, but it straight up felt like something engineered and built by NASA. Their products since haven’t come close to hitting that bar.

No person dead is GOOD.

I mean… there are definitely a good handful of people who’s final theft of our oxygen will mark the world becoming a slightly better place.

The absence of evil is good. When people use their life to be evil, their death is good.

I’d personally draw that line well before the entire career field of law enforcement, but to each their own I guess.

Getting “Clash of Clans: Presidential Edition!” vibes from the thumbnail, lol.

Anywho, yay for forgiving stupid sentences for stupid laws. 16 seems a little weak though… why not just scrap the entire law that’s landing prison sentences for nonviolent drug offenses?

Oh, I meant that as a completely separate idea, not something he should personally do. Probably should have made that it’s own paragraph instead of just an ellipsis. Shitty communication on my part.

Sterile_Technique,
@Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world avatar

Naw you’re good. I have a bad habit of just typing as I think. The ellipses as a pause was the pause in my thinking between topics, which is very much not how an ellipses is supposed to be used. You responded appropriately taking my post at face value.

Can we all agree that whatever version of predictive text we have nowadays is crap, and has been for a long time?

I’m sick of random capitalisations mid sentence. I’m sick of common words being replaced by less common ones or even downright nonsense. I’m sick of it taking three attempts to successfully get the word I want. I swear it’s been like this for five years or more. Can we have a better version yet, or at least the old one...

Iirc FlexT9 was ducking (nope, not fixing it this time, rofl) great for the… Galaxy S2?, but then Swype bought em out and it’s been downhill ever since.

So… it’s not that the tech is bad, it’s that it’s being hamstrung somewhere.
