A climate scientist becoming the first woman president of Mexico feels like such a big deal. I'm not deeply familiar with Mexican politics, but to my eyes she seems really great.
@ben I’m afraid she sounds a lot better than what she really is. Trust me, I was born and have lived in Mexico City all my life. She is just going to be AMLO’s executive arm now. She even mimicked his speeches, tone and cadence included, during the whole presidential campaign.

I am reading Our Man in Havana by Grahame Greene.
It has a Kafkaesque air to it with the everyday and mundane suddenly becoming sinister and surreal.

Still on the very early pages, but for some reason I find it a bit lacking. I get the impression the author is more interested in letting you know how much he is into rock and how many doors that has opened for him than in telling the story of the band… we’ll see if it gets better 🤔
