Games with “deep strategy” are largely not very good.
I still play a bunch of Stellaris and I go back to Age of Wonders 4 pretty frequently. Against the Storm is also addictive as hell. These 3 games have a sense of adventure that keeps them interesting.
I like Solium Infernum - which is pretty new - quite a bit, but it doesn’t have the staying power that those do. On top of that you have misfires like Humankind, Old World, Vicky 3, and the like. “Deep” is one thing, but fiddly and unnecessarily complicated is another… as is being under-developed in important areas like the endgame.
I think gamers are becoming less interested in a genre that has become saturated with dime-a-dozen mediocre cruft.
So long as it works on Proton and they haven’t done anything stupid to block it like some of those other companies… it’s hard to get mad about this.
And as great as the new M-class Macs are, Apple’s porting tools are not as great as was advertised… and that’s before all their code signing shenanigans and whatnot.
They are supposed to stop it looooong before it gets to this stage. Have one or more companies formed powerful trusts that give them significant power over a market? Break them apart and bust them open.
Instead, we twiddle our thumbs while bootlicking white knites tell you it’s not a monopoly because there are TWO trusts cornering entire markets.
I try to avoid things with Red Hat or Canonical stink on it (which is why Kubuntu and Fedora are out)… and it’s more friendly than something more barebones like Arch.
That almost made sense in the age of the cotton gin. It does not any more. All patents are abuse. Always. Every time.
Case in point: you “invent” something (which is guaranteed to be something - or a combination of somethings - that are already extant, btw)… a corporation…
Already has a similar patent and crushes you with the sheer legal corruption and power that comes with ostentatious wealth.
Files the patent before or via other loophole supersedes your filing… and THEN crushes you with sheer legal corruption and power that comes with ostentatious wealth.
Either way, they win. And even if you win, chances are you’ve merely stolen some concept that should always have been public domain, anyway.
You see this as a way to fight against wealthy corporations, but no matter how you swing it, it’s theft. It’s plain old theft from society and the public… and the bigger and wealthier you are, the more you can steal. Just because “little guys” can sometimes engage in such legally-protected theft doesn’t make it any less theft.
Considering we live in a capitalist society, there needs to be a way to reimburse inventors.
As the person above me pointed out, how do you prevent a large company on capitalising on ideas that a small inventor has?
This is your answer. The problem is Capitalism and enabling/perpetuating tools of Capitalist abuse is no solution at all. Under our current system, the thing you ask “how do we prevent” is currently happening. it does not provide protection for “small inventors” - it provides a way for big companies to churn put patents by the hundreds/thousands/millions.
We collected all the clues and logged them as evidence. They are evidence now. You should look at them some time instead of burying your head in the sand and imagining your own.
Neither the government nor anyone else should EVER be allowed to restrict medical care, treatments, medications, diagnoses, procedures, etc.
NEVER. Period.
Not only on ethical grounds, but Constitutional ones. The government does NOT have the Constitutional authority to impose limits on medical care. Period.
As far as I’m concerned, every single official involved in doing such should be forcibly removed and imprisoned for the rest of their natural lives. Violating our Constitutional rights and civil liberties on this scale is unforgivable. Not mincing words about this.
Remember, for the GOP, tax funds exist only to be looted by political cronies… if the money is being spent on things that actually benefit taxpayers, then there is less for them to loot, which they won’t abide.

They are in violent and vehement denial about facts that are empirically documented and readily observable with ones own eyes.
They didn’t actually learn anything. It will be written off as some “degenerate liberuhl conspiracy”, as they do with every other fact that doesn’t align with their perverse totalitarian worldview.
I mean, that’s the entire conservative/right-wing M.O.
I think it’s possible to be both a Zionist (Zionist-lite?) AND opposed to mass murder and genocide… including that of the native Palestinian population.
