As suggested yesterday by @JennyList

A battery free name tag...

Can't fault the quality of my colour laser engraver. :)

@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec @JennyList I like that! Could you print some DjangoPBX ones?

@Extelec I was going to ask you how you were getting on with it. Did I see some MOH calls the other day?

Extelec, to random
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

How did we do...

Well, you have only so far managed to take money from me, so on that basis, yes, you did very well.

Can I reserve judgement until I actually receive the goods ?

a2es,
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec Oh I had this. When I responded the company apologised for the delay and said my kit was on the bench being assembled as we speak. When I responded to the second how did we do, I was told that the components for my kit had not yet arrived in the country. When the third how did we do came in, I asked them to tell me now they thought they were doing. They refunded my money!

@Extelec hell yes!
I was glad of an interesting read while waiting for the garage to change the rear brake pads that they said didn't need changing last week.

New project PCBs arrived so I now have a small Pi Picow phone, the Pi-Tele-Cow.

This is a Full stack* develpment. I'm writing or modifying all the code from UDP upwards.

SIP RDP etc..

Currently can make and receive calls via SIP (with errors)

This is being developed alongside the Farnsworths.

*Full Stack refers to my pile of unfinished projects.

Any similarity with any other logos is purely coincidental.

White 3d printed case on top of a circuit diagram. Blue PCB with 15 push buttons 0-9 * # answer and call clear

@Extelec I must say that I'm very impressed by your work on this. Many people find SIP and SDP difficult to understand let alone code!
Have you cracked NAT traversal yet? :-)

a2es,
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec check out rport RFC3581. It's a useful parameter.

Extelec, to random
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

So, Ive been playing with VOIP and I have been stuck with a strange issue I failed to debug for 3+ weeks.

When sending a SIP packet with an SDP payload I always get an error "Error parsing/validating SDP body: Invalid SDP descriptor " from my Asterisk Server

Regardless of payload.

Ive been through the RFC, I've taken logs, Ive tried three versions of Asterisk, nothing worked.

@Extelec This thought has only just occurred to me. I know I suggested FreeSWITCH before as an alternative debugging tool, but in actual fact registering against an OpenSIPS proxy with provide very good diagnostic output.

I think I've found the problem with me and printers.

They don't understand sarcasm.

Maybe I aught to teach it sarcasm, with a large ball peen sarcasm teaching implement.

@Extelec ah yes, the same implement used for emergency disk failure when the auditors arrive!

@Extelec or cloud cover. Here I am in the North of Scotland with a camera and a magnetometer reading of 460 nano Teslas. The Aurora should be visible from anywhere in the UK, but not here!

SIP digest Auth is FUN!

@Extelec are you using a library (pjsip?) Or doing it the hard way?

I've built pjsip on a pi in the past.

a2es,
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec lots of threads and timers! - I take it you are coding subscriptions, presence and BLF notify events!

a2es,
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec Actually there is a lot of sofia.c that just runs in a single thread.

Google search, assisted by AI gave me an answer (and a question) that I didn't ask for.

"What are the three types of IDE?"

I was looking for info on the disk drive interface.

useless.

Picked up an RC2014 Classic kit at the Retro Computing Show last weekend. Built it today and it worked first time. Now for the CP/M upgrade....

a2es, to retrocomputing
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

Well it didn't work first time. I had crossed over the OE and the WE lines on the RAM board. That took a bit of finding! Now all running OK.

I decided to build Grant Searle's minimal chip count Z80 computer. I started on solderless breadboard, but then thought it would be good to have easy access to the address, data bus and control lines. Not so easy on the breadboard so I switched to Vero strip board. Before long I realised I had basically made an rc2014 classic.
It would have been cheaper and much easier to buy the kit!
From left to right: CPU, ACIA, dual Clock, ROM with zif, RAM, and LEDs for states.

Lots of problems today with my business portals being flagged as Deceptive, malware or Phishing by Google safebrowsing.

Firefox on my mobile would not let me acces any of my admin URLs, no option to ignore the risk just not accessible.
The solution was to ditch Firefox and install the Vivaldi browser on my mobile phone.

a2es,
@a2es@mstdn.social avatar

@Extelec found them on the desktop but couldn't find them on the mobile Firefox app. Probably need to look harder. Having said that I don't like the fact that FF has been sending my browsing URLs to Google without my knowledge, again probably some small print that I failed to notice.

I remember building this Ladybird radio project as a child. Screws and screwcups! I still remember the transistors OC71s and an OC45.
