So, this might be our last 48 hours with a version of Siri that sucks?

alexsteinerde,

@simonbs * just over 24h left 🥳

@daniel Congratulations.
I still remember you celebrating the first billion! You are really accelerating the pace. 🥳

You are still unable to submit a visionOS app to the App Store with the current, shipping version of Xcode 🤷‍♂️ It's been a week.

All because visionOS 1.2 hasn't actually released yet.

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@stroughtonsmith yup, got the same mail yesterday too after submitting a new update across all platforms. I decided to skip visionOS for this release. If Apple doesn’t want updates there, Apple doesn’t get updates there 🤷‍♂️

I have a four-day work week, allowing me to focus on my side projects on Fridays. Boy, I love Fridays! 😄

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@simonbs I do the same but I have my side-project-day on Tuesdays to not get it too much mixed up with my weekend feelings and routines.
Since doing this, I love Tuesdays much more than before!

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@simonbs Oh nice. Being so flexible with your day off must gives you a big freedom.

alexsteinerde,

@krzyzanowskim @nickkohrn Same for me this morning. Redownloading and relaunching Xcode didn't help. Had to reboot.

@daniel You only accept working students at the moment, right? No part time opportunities?

🤔 New header link in App Store Connect to “Search and Discovery Services”, doesn't lead anywhere right now (for me at least), but I wonder what we have in store for us.

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@_Davidsmith I get redirected back to the login page everytime

People who track time across work and hobbies: what is your approach to remembering to start a timer?

Once every second year or so, I give time tracking a try, but I always stop after mere days or weeks because I keep forgetting to start a timer.

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@simonbs That's exactly what this guy (Matt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unSlnMWUzr4) used as well.
Maybe you can consider some of his tips (not tracking too many categories).
I started (tried) tracking my work time as well since December with that app and it works quite good.
From time to time I forget to stop a timer but then I get an email from them.

New @telemetrydeck feature: you can now download the raw data from any TelemetryDeck insight. Navigate to the insight editor, click "Actions" and then either download the raw JSON data, or a CSV representation that should be compatible with Microsoft Excel.

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@daniel @telemetrydeck Nothing sounds more like an enterprise feature than Excel exports :D

I was in a good mood today until I tried satisfying some Swift concurrency warnings.

Why is it OK for a Sendable class to wrap access to a var with a computed property using a lock, but it's not OK to make a property wrapper for that pattern?

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@marcoarment You missed the opportunity to call it OCLockedMarco.

How are we doing shared data stores between watchOS and iOS apps these days?

alexsteinerde,
@alexsteinerde@mastodon.social avatar

@thillsman I would be interested in this too.
At the moment I send all required data as binary data to the watch app and store it there temporary.
I heard CoreData iCloud sync isn't really reliable enough to be used. But maybe that has changed.

The new UIPageControlTimerProgress is super cool and produces greatly looking page controls! ✨ https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uipagecontroltimerprogress

@simonbs I just wish this would be available in SwiftUI as well.
