Should I remove the earthworm from my indoor potted plant?
It seems the compost I used was more lively than anticipated. There's an earthworm crawling around in there....
A Real Big Garden (lemmy.world)
Doing a crop walk for one of my clients this morning. Air was real still, goats were only a little bit desperate for grain. Good start to the day
Spotted dead-nettle (lemmy.ca)
I tried a tiny taste and it was pretty neutral, not “grassy” at all. Might work well in a salad....

Trying something a bit more unusual for the office: a Calamondin orange
It's going to be a while, but I have high hopes for this one. I transplanted it a few days ago into some augmented Mel's mix soil, and just kept it moist before bringing it in....
Refreshed the bed with new cedar mulch! (lemmy.world)
I didn’t take a before picture, just an in progress, but I took out the 4 year old mulch, never turned it before. So I ripped it all out, stripped out abount 3 inches of soil and put it in the garden bed. I then put 3 inches of a 50/50 loam compost blend and topped with 3 inches of cedar mulch.

Good news! I think I figured out my tomatoe issue. (lemmy.world)
Unfortunately, it is user error. My watering timer got switched to day mode instead of 24 hours. So it would only work when it had the light to operate, so it always worked when I was in the room…
working on cover for my next solarpunk novel (slrpnk.net)
I’m swimming-with-mermaids delighted to reveal the cover of my next solarpunk mystery novel, Missing Mermaid. Right now I’m deciding how best to arrange the text on the cover. Do you recommend option one (author name on her tail) or option two (author name and title both up in the sky)?...

What's growing on, Beehaw?
We’re halfway through potting up all the plants we’ve overwintered, but are looking at temps below freezing for the next two nights. Today will be about getting covers ready for everything and setting up ambient warmth for several of our plants that are currently flowering. On my way home from a doctor’s appointment, I...

Is my peach tree dead? (lemmy.world)
I’m not sure what happened but my peach tree isn’t getting leaves. The branches on the end are brittle but I did a little cut on the tree bark on the trunk and it was green under so I don’t think she’s dead. I’m not sure what may have caused this. I thought at first it was because she didn’t get enough chill hours...
How would you spring care for this third year fruiting raspberry. (lemmy.world)
I’m kinda half regretting the plant to be honest, it’s spreading vicariously, maybe giving it my cannabis nutrient runoff wasn’t the best idea…...
