baritone_edge,

Don’t send him money if he asks for it or take investment advice from this dude.

There’s plenty of long-term romance scams out there.

Be careful stay safe. He’s probably not a hallucination, but also might not be who he says he is either.

baritone_edge,

I have had issues with these portals before. I’ve never gotten s VPN to work to bypass them though and I’ve tried.

However, when I do have issues I can usually log in to the router’s home page (usually 192.186.1.1) and it will bring up the captive portal for me.

baritone_edge,

Don’t sign up, don’t say anything. Just go do something. You don’t need permission or forgiveness.

I wish I could just be completely alone

I often forget that with one exception I have never, ever, ever been happy with another living thing in the room. I hate speaking—I wish I had been born mute because the anxiety that’s been tied around my neck as long as I can remember makes everything come out wrong. I wish I hadn’t been Narcan’d. When I finally fucking...

baritone_edge,

Can relate.

I used to socialize by going into open video chat groups, muting the tab, and then switching the tab so I couldn’t see it and going about my research. Made me feel less alone without having to see or speak to anyone.

baritone_edge,

Do some homeless prep and recon. Will make transition much easier.

baritone_edge,
  • update ID so you have longer before it expires
  • P.O. box. I recommend looking for a company that provides the service instead of the post office itself.
  • external battery for charging devices
  • library card (usually require address so before is better)
  • gym membership for showering
  • work nights in the winter and day during summer. Change jobs if you have to.
  • get a laptop, even if it’s too garbage to use or even broken. You’ll get kicked out of a lot less places if you’re pretending to work.

If have a car…

  • if your car is long enough try to get a camping cot that you can lay out in the car. They make various custom ones that level things out for sleeping.
  • Reflectix you cut out in the shape of your windows. Will keep your car cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter for you or your stuff. Also blocks view so less likely to have theft issues
baritone_edge,

I keep a jar in my glovebox. My local grocery store has cash-based self checkout registers with a spot to input change. Whenever I go, I grab a handful of change and dump the lot into there. It usually takes like $3-6 off my purchase with some change left over. But it’s an easy way to keep the collection low.
