I enjoy cheap tacos, long walks on the beach at sunset, and all things baseball.

Let’s go Padres!

Really on the fence about this one.

This question might be better suited for Ask Lemmy After Dark or AskLemmyNSFW

Lately I find myself just going straight to Wikipedia and bypassing any search engine.

beefbaby182,

So ergo no posts=nothing to see. If I just give it some random name I should be fine, I’m guessing.

The Great Digg Migration was way bigger and Digg was never the same after that. If Lemmy gets a couple more big waves from Reddit, it could mean the end for Reddit as it currently is.

How to sign in when you see other urls/websites?

I’m pretty tech-impaired so I don’t really understand the whole “decentralization” “federate” & Etc. but I saw a new lemmy “with a TTRPG community”; you might’ve seen the recent addition of "r/Accidental Renaissance. But… I can’t sign in to my Lemmy account on there! So what gives?

Thank you. The rule is still being ignored but we are still being a bit gracious about it. Soon we start enforcing it more thoroughly.

Just a heads up, let’s try to phrase post titles in the form of a question, please. The rule is pretty lax for the moment, but will be enforced further down the line with the use of an automoderator bot.

The ‘instance’ is the ‘server’ that you made your account with.

Your ‘instance’ is ‘lemmy.fmhy.ml’.

A community is essentially a subreddit. As far as I know, there isn’t really an official term for it yet. I have been calling them ‘sublemmys’.

You’re right but let’s not confuse the OP

beefbaby182,
@beefbaby182@lemmy.world avatar

Now all we have to do is wait for Reddit to screw up again for the next wave of new users!

Milk it. Squeeze it.

I would be willing to bet a lot do not even know and/or care about Lemmy

beefbaby182,
@beefbaby182@lemmy.world avatar

I do primarily use it plugged in but I want to get in the habit of running off battery and letting it drain and recharge more often. Don’t want to have to go through the trouble of replacing another one.

beefbaby182,
@beefbaby182@lemmy.world avatar

I really hope so so I can finally ditch Reddit and Twitter for good. I’ve got two local sublemmys I created that I’m trying to grow, but it doesn’t seem like there’s enough of a userbase right now to support local communties.

I’ll take that even one further. Not only will I rarely seek out new movies, for the most part I stick to rewatching my favorites in my personal collection over and over.
