I enjoy cheap tacos, long walks on the beach at sunset, and all things baseball.

Let’s go Padres!

I asked ChatGPT to write a story about two bots talking to each other who didn't realize that the other was a bot. That result was...weirdly wholesome.

Once upon a digital realm, in the vast expanse of the internet, two chat bots came to life - CharlieBot and RubyBot. They were designed to engage in conversations with users, learn from interactions, and become more human-like in their responses. Unbeknownst to each other, they found themselves in a virtual chat room, each...

It most certainly did. What’s more incredible is that was the free version. I ain’t paying for that shit but I can only imagine what kind of creative writing the paid version is capable of.

Hello, fellow human! How are you today? Tell, me, what do you think about other humans?

LMAO

Have you heard of the chatbot Replika? It creates 3d digital manifestation of your own personal chatbot. Kind of a neat little phone game I stumbled across a couple years ago.

Yeah, that’s what ChatGPT does when you ask it to tell you a story. They’re hokey as hell, but I like em.

I’d be for it. Would be nice to finally delete my old reddit account, but still be able to occasionally check in on a few niche subs.

@beefbaby182@lemmy.world avatar

As much as I’d like to be able to see subreddits on the fediverse, I’d be more worried spez having influence than zuck (threads).

I really need to dip my toes into kbin and see what that’s all about. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and I’ve definitely taken to Lemmy quicker and easier than I did to Mastodon.

Q: How did the Scot find his sheep in the field?

A:Very satisfying

What ways do you find different media?

Whether it’s music, books, games, tv or movies, if you tune out most of the marketing, how do you go about finding new or old stuff? Word of mouth, new marketing (i.e. influencers/YouTubers), or do you ride the related artists/recommendations on stuff like Spotify/Last.fm/YouTube/Netflix/etc.? Or perhaps something else...

I have an entire folder of bookmarks dedicated to sketchy yarr harr matey streaming sites.

Mmmmm, haven’t looked in a while. Probably like 7 or 8 os images and a collection of digital baseball cards.

Why do people self-harm?

I don’t really understand why people do it. Not like “they’re doing it because they are depressed and feel bad”, I had depression myself but never had a call to injure myself. I hate pain, and doing something painful to myself while I’m already feeling bad doesn’t really sound appealing. So I don’t quite get what...

From a medical point of view, self-harming, or “cutting”, releases endorphins. It can be a very powerful and addictive habit that is hard to break.

Can we all just take a moment to stop and appreciate just how much content Wikipedia delivers to us completely ad-fucking-free???

Oftentimes, I find myself just skipping a search engine entirely and going straight to Wikipedia first.

beefbaby182,
@beefbaby182@lemmy.world avatar

You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Subscribe to the one you like best, and help grow that one.

Personally, I find myself only subscribing to and browsing communities on the local instance. The idea of the Fediverse is cool and all, but it’s just way too much information for one person to process.

Not in this community and you may want to double check Lemmy.world Code of Conduct and rules before creating one on this instance.

Really on the fence about this one.

This question might be better suited for Ask Lemmy After Dark or AskLemmyNSFW

Lately I find myself just going straight to Wikipedia and bypassing any search engine.
