blusterydayve26,

But it’s still in their favor, just not unassailably so. Further, only after he’s lost enough court cases, this is the first time, in over a decade of trying, that Vos has been for the non-partisan redistricting council (and only because he expects he can pack it?).

blusterydayve26,

gave up playing their bread and butter game

Search was never Google’s money maker, that was AdWords. Search was merely the tool they used to get users in the door and exposed to AdWords, where they made their money. AdWords raked in ~100M/day in the early 2010s iirc.

blusterydayve26,

Probably not, it’s probably just part of some Mirai bot farm purchased for $50 to ddos a TF2 streamer or something. The dip was when the rental expired and it was waiting for new orders.

I mean, not like I’d be super surprised to hear that it was AV on everything, but that sounds like an investment in hardware expenses LG would never make.

blusterydayve26,

No, the RiNOs were intentionally and specifically hunted to extinction through shame and exclusion. That’s why the name, “Republican in Name Only,” is applied those who don’t embrace the party’s wildest platforms.

blusterydayve26,

It is wildly annoying. If you want to get the details, check out the book “What’s the matter with Kansas” for a quick history.

Looking for advice on a kid/tamper proof retro gaming experience

I’m looking for some advice on setting up a retro gaming system for my son. He absolutely loves the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and some Atari classics like Frogger. The problem I have is he is autistic, which leads to two very different issues to solve. First is he loves to tinker with things. Which I don’t mind, and actively...

The Pyra Handheld - Just buy a few extra SD cards and swap out the SD card with a working one after he breaks it.

Edit: Never mind, it’s still under development, I thought it had been released.

blusterydayve26,

I’m so sad that the above article is almost 14 years old.

blusterydayve26,

Thanks for keeping on reading, continuing to learn, and not getting discouraged. Everybody is one of those lucky 10,000 about something, every day. (Well, unless you’ve stopped learning, or you’re dead.)

blusterydayve26,

You wrote comment 6461913, and then pasted a link to it 4 more times. Why are you so desperate to argue that your experience is the only possible experience? I feel like I just watched a Dunning-Kreuger empathy 0% speedrun.

blusterydayve26,

What if we just pay them +10% on the existing bribe structure and convert to federally funded elections?

blusterydayve26,

I wish they would’ve taken Razbuten’s advice when making ToTK: give the players something back when they break weapons, to make breaking weapons advantageous and occasionally strategic. If each broken weapon gave the player, say, Moon Shards based on the weapon or shield’s power, which could later be used to extend the duration of the master sword or extra plus damage, then I’d break the crap out of all my weapons all the time.

blusterydayve26,

I’m still mad he didn’t use the size of the number to tell the system which block to read first. I feel like that would be a great use of division or maybe modulus?

blusterydayve26,

If it hasn’t moved in two hours, we can probably assume it’s stopped.

I think people mad at Reuters don’t realize that they’re intentionally invoking the Streisand Effect in this case. Otherwise, today, I wouldn’t have heard anything about:

confirmed scammer Rajat Khare covering up his scammy ways

I love how an important question from the article is posed but never answered: “So how do you get the bike from there to wherever you want to go without riding on the street?”

blusterydayve26,

Of course! How else are you supposed to rent things you already own? Of course ownership is no cure for renting out these days.

Teen GTA VI hacker sentenced to life in a secure hospital (www.theverge.com)

The 18-year-old Lapsus$ hacker who played a critical role in leaking Grand Theft Auto VI footage has been sentenced to life inside a hospital prison, according to a report from the BBC. A British judge ruled on Thursday that Arion Kurtaj is a high risk to the public because he still wants to commit cybercrimes....

blusterydayve26, (edited )

Life in hospital because he publicly vowed to keep doing it while his trial was going on. That’s not a smart thing, that’s definitely not a sane thing. You apologize and move on to get out, you double down if you really like the food, white walls, and basic healthcare, or, you know, if you can’t stop yourself from saying so.

blusterydayve26,

Can we do write-only federation where all the outgoing posts are cat pictures or ones pointing to instances.social

blusterydayve26,

Yeah, I assume it’s just the enshitification/embrace-extend-extinguish playbook. Given that FB can decide to rugpull at any time, I don’t know that there’s a timeframe I’d start believing they’d act in good faith. They can just follow the email-playbook to disempower the federated service model.

blusterydayve26,

I searched quickly, but I couldn’t find anything. If there was like a Patreon or something where I could give $50/mo to help people get the fuck out of shitty states or situations, I’d do it. Know any?
