boredsquirrel, to linux in anti-snap stance is anti-consumer

There already is Flatpak. Many proprietary apps are shipped as Snaps, which helps with Flatpak packaging as the binaries can just be packed into a different container.

Snap developers kinda help with making the whole portals, isolated apps stuff work.

But thats about it.

boredsquirrel, to linux in Fedora Silverblue is the most frustrating distro so far

I rebase quite often, its the better distrohopping.

Have a look at Fedora Discuss, interesting things there.

CDU vergessen.

Kann den Vortrag von Nico Semsrott empfehlen. Aber nur wenn ihr die Kapazitäten dafür habt.

Die drecks Konservativen sind schuld, dass das elitäre System der EU nichts bringt.

boredsquirrel, (edited ) to kde in Install updates from Discover without password ?

Without telling your distro this question is not helpful.

Discover uses packagekit, an abstraction layer that can do things like install, update, remove on many different distros.

So this might be distro-independent, but maybe not.

Try to enter in the terminal pkcon upgrade and if a GUI password prompt pops up, click on “expand” and see the action that is used like org.somenama.packagekit_update

This GUI prompt might also already be the one you described

Mailbox org?

Was genau bedeutet das eigentlich? Man hat nur die Domain aber der Mailtraffic läuft über den Anbieter? Oder richten die einem ein Proxy ein oder so?

boredsquirrel, to communitypromo in Reviving !linux@programming.dev as an alternative to !linux@lemmy.ml

I dont get these alternatives. Lemmy needs a feature to mirror communities to other servers. Having 2 is annoying

boredsquirrel, to thunderbird in Thunderbird flatpak isn't opening attachements

Yes that is strange.

You want to use its PDF reader?

In short: all are Crap, use UBlockOrigin

(ABP is worse, Adguard “intelligently shows ads”, Ghostery is spyware)

I recommend the app Flora Incognita, it is damn good.

Take a picture of the leaves or flower or whole plant, it often gives a direct answer.

That picture is not that usable, the leaf is too blurry.

But yes Flora Incognita also gives Potentilla indica.
