buddascrayon,

Yes but I believe the requests themselves are actually publicly available knowledge.

buddascrayon,

Stupidity mostly.

buddascrayon,

One thing that I will say on this is that I find the idea that a company can patent life is beyond repugnant. These corporations aren’t designing these things from the ground up. They are doing the exact same thing farmers have done for thousands of years which is mixing breeds together to get the result they want. Only real difference now is that they can take a snapshot of the DNA and go to the patent office and say “Mine!”.

buddascrayon,

Like we’ve seen before with AI chatbots, this technology seems to confuse satire with journalism

Unfortunately so does my aunt. And she’s allowed to vote.

buddascrayon,

Next in the news “water is wet”.

buddascrayon,

Activision, which is like Valve’s slower and far less intelligent cousin, sold for $59B. Valve would be worth orders of magnitude more than that.

buddascrayon,

Yeah, I now realize the article was talking £ not $

buddascrayon,

Yes well Sam (I’m a total dipshit, but it’s ok cause I’m rich now) Altman tweeting out “Her” on launch day did not help matters.

buddascrayon,

I listen to it and no they’re not that different. The way she speaks is eeriely similar to the way Scarlett Johansson does.

buddascrayon, (edited )

What do you think the actor’s strike was about? And what do you think one of the key agreements the actors wrung out of the studios was? They were not about to allow their likenesses to be sold for all of eternity for pennies on the dollar.

buddascrayon,

When you look at the development notes on the self-driving at Tesla, anyone with a brain wouldn’t trust that shit, not even a little bit. Most of what they did is placate Musk’s petty whims and delusions. Any real R&D issues were basically glazed over it given quick software fixes.

buddascrayon,

This isn’t actually true. The Tesla full self driving issues we hear about in the news are the ones that result in fatal and near fatal accidents, but the forums are chock full of reports from owners of the thing malfunctioning on a regular basis.

buddascrayon,

Just need to Google “Tesla self-driving development engineers and Elon Musk”, and you’ll find lots of articles. Here’s one of the few that wasn’t paywalled.

buddascrayon,

Here’s one of the few articles that wasn’t paywalled when I pulled up a Google search on it. It’s really not hard to find the stories are all over the place.

businessinsider.com/elon-musk-tesla-autopilot-fsd…

buddascrayon,

Seriously you sound like a Mac user in the '90s. “It only crashes 8 or 9 times a day, it’s so much better than it used to be. It’s got so many great features that I’m willing to deal with a little inconvenience…” Difference being that when a Mac crashes it just loses some data and has to reboot but when a Tesla crashes people die.

buddascrayon,

Yeah, during development of the Tesla self driving system.

buddascrayon,

It’s not about how well or badly it worked when they were developing it, it’s about the developing process. It’s about the fact that they had to appease Elon Musk’s ego in all aspects of developing the self drive system. To a disastrous degree.

And again there is a world of difference between the iPhone or Open AI or Google Assistant not working right and a car driving itself not working right because when those other things don’t work nobody dies or gets hurt. But a car can mame and kill people extremely easily.

buddascrayon,

If this were all true we wouldn’t have Medicaid, Medicare, or social security. There wouldn’t be welfare, literally at all and Unions wouldn’t exist. Not to mention that slavery would never have been abolished.

There is a moral core that has run through this country since it’s inception that is currently being suppressed by the ultra wealthy in their race to gain more wealth and power through the use of social media platforms and most major media outlets. But there’s only so much their suppression can do before that moral core comes knocking at their doors and demands a reckoning.

buddascrayon,

Yes, we have two absolutely shitty choices for president. So why not focus on your senate and congressional choices. Or even look at your gubernatorial elections and local senators and aldermen. A lot of those determine how the parties get to interact with the federal choices. You want better choices? Get involved.

buddascrayon,

No matter how similar the voice is to Scarlett Johansson’s, it would still sound fundamentally different. But there are tricks that you can use to alter the pitch and range of a voice to make it sound more like a specific person and that’s probably what they did.

buddascrayon,

Not to be “that guy” but you forgot to include Obama. As well as every US president since Washington.

buddascrayon,

I find people who make this “argument” very silly. The gold standard is unsustainable. The amount of cash in circulation will always outstrip the amount of gold in whatever vault it been tied to. Fiat money is always an economic inevitability for a growing state.

buddascrayon,

Well that’s just shitty car design. Guess that’s what you get when you have a bunch of software and computer engineers try to make a car.

buddascrayon,

Yeah you should see the problems with Tesla’s and water in the air vent system. They can’t handle rain or car washes very well cause the dipshits who designed em never bothered to look at how actual car designers dealt with keeping water out of the venting system.

buddascrayon,

Yeah, mining magnate basically means she’s rich cause her father’s company has raped the earth using labor they paid pennies for while those who actually did all the work are likely living in abject poverty.
