This is our first sunny weekend day during Tulipfest in semi-normal times in our house very near Commissioners Park and OH BOY the traffic on our dead end, go nowhere street. More like Tulip Pests.

This morning a man drive down the street, got to the dead end and then tried to drive around the post onto the O-Train pathway until Jeff ran toward him and someone on the path stopped him. We’re one of the few streets that actually has a post; the rest are missing their flexi posts or have a measly pylon. Working as designed.

@Auxonic @human3500 @johnefrancis So strange that being the same height is a matter of "respect." A lot to unpack there (which is not to say that Trudeau is doing anything wrong in doing this, just that it's weird when you consider WHY).

And if you think about it, probably not many would do it for a woman that was shorter, which now makes me want to analyze every photo of Trudeau.

Time for another OCtranspo bus optimism moment. Bus - the detested 85 that did me extremely dirty this winter - is scheduled in 2 minutes. Will it arrive anywhere near on time? Let’s find out.

I checked on the GPS and the GPS isn’t on but the one for the next bus - 10 minutes away - is. How is the GPS allowed to be off? We’re already at four minutes late.

The next bus is either 10 minutes late or five minutes early. Neither should happen with timing stops, which octranspo doesn’t observe (I know why they don’t but they should because they’re essential to a functioning bus system)

I’m on, 12 minutes later than I was supposed to be. It’s a double decker, which I’ve never ridden on before. Maybe they were only pretending about the last bus and this one is both.

Someone on TikTok just pointed out that the cost of parking for one hour in a major city is often than the minimum wage for that city which means that car storage gets paid more per hour than literal human beings do.

I don't think I'll ever be the same after that realization.

If you're finding your headphones aren't cutting it for your twice-weekly in-office torture session, the iPhone accessibility settings let you add background noise that helps muffle more of the disgusting noises of your cube neighbours eating or talking at loud volume on the phone instead of using a quiet room like a civilized individual.

Go to Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Background Sounds and then turn that ON. You can choose which sound you want just below that and adjust the volume.

I am not yet in Ottawa. New arrival time supposedly just before 8pm. This 140km train ride took half an hour longer than our flight from Casablanca to Montreal.

We were in Spain so it is just before 2am to me. I had to use a calculator to add 19+5 to figure out our flight duration and it still took me about 10 minutes to figure it out.
