Ukraine war: what we know about the secret deal that could have ended the conflict in April 2022 (www.leparisien.fr)

“It was the best deal we could have had.” Two years later, a Ukrainian negotiator is still bitter: unveiled by the German daily Die Welt, in an article spotted by Le Figaro on Monday, the deal could have ended the war just weeks after the Russian invasion....

cfgaussian,

Apparently it was Germany that told Putin that if he wanted Ukraine to be able to sign the agreement that they had just negotiated he should first pull his troops from Kiev. Like a complete idiot he believed them, and this after they had just spent seven years dicking him around with the Minsk accords that they never had any intention of making Ukraine abide by.

Say what you will about the West but they would never fall for this kind of shit. They wouldn’t get fucked over due to being so naive as to believe that their interlocutor was negotiating in good faith, because they themselves never act in good faith, are always lying and looking to screw the other side over and so assume everyone else does too.

Russians are like naive children sometimes. They really want to believe that they are dealing with rational, normal people in the West and they get fucked over for it every time. I hope that the Ukraine saga has finally taught them that the West is incapable of doing anything but lying and cheating and will never ever cease trying to destroy you if you don’t bow down to them and let them rob and enslave you.

And i hope China has been paying attention and learning this lesson as well.

"Ukraine soldier explains why he has no mercy for pleading Russians" (www.merkur.de)

Not everything can be shown or told on television, “and so civilians develop a ‘correct’, ‘proper’ awareness of war. It is ‘correct’ in the sense that it happens according to the rules,” he says and in turn makes serious accusations against the Russian army: “But it doesn’t happen that way. It is not...

Brainwashed Nazi scum. No different from Wehrmacht or SS butchers. Their fate will be the same. Russia has experience in denazification.

cfgaussian,

To protect fragile westerners from a billion Chinese people who would otherwise be trolling the shit out of them for being ignorant dumbasses.

cfgaussian,

Is it possible we’re just being outcompeted

The answer appears to be a resounding yes, even according to western reporters:

“I Went To China And Drove A Dozen Electric Cars. Western Automakers Are Cooked”

cfgaussian,

The sanctions are going to be there no matter what, and the more sovereignty and socialism a country strives for the more the imperialists try to pile on the sanctions. A country refraining from acquiring nuclear weapons does nothing to make them impose less sanctions. Your argument essentially amounts to allowing the imperialists intimidate and blackmail a country into foregoing self-defense. Iran has not yet developed nuclear weapons but they have essentially been treated as though they have. Cuba has been living under a crushing blockade, do you think that the US has been holding back because Cuba was nice enough to not have nuclear weapons?

To believe that if a socialist or anti-imperialist country just “plays by the rules” and bows down to imperialist diktat about not having nuclear weapons they will somehow be treated more nicely is incredibly naive. Not having the capability to defend yourself just puts you at risk, it emboldens the imperialists to more regime change attempts, more color revolutions, more aggression. Acquiring any and all necessary and available means for self-defense is a strategic and imo moral imperative for anti-imperialists. Whether that means nuclear weapons or more conventional assymetric armaments depends on the economic and military-industrial capabilities of a country, but nothing should be excluded.

cfgaussian,

It might be best if these policies are ignored entirely.

You just answered your own question. Fuck the imperialists and fuck their “non-proliferation” hypocrisy. Why are they allowed nukes while other smaller countries are not? It’s time to start ignoring them and their attempts to impose rules on the rest of the world that they themselves don’t abide by.

cfgaussian,

The point being made, as i understand it, is that anyone who believes things along the lines of “just one more operation and it’s over” is either clueless or deluding themselves. Even if they wipe all of Gaza off the map that will not end the resistance, it will just make it grow even bigger even faster.

cfgaussian,

Soooo…are the collective west mainstream media and western politicians going to apologize for making the accusation?

Hamas leader salutes U.S. student protests (www.workers.org)

The Biden administration, complicit in the brutal war on our Palestinian people, does not want to acknowledge that it faces a U.S. public that has discovered the truth about the Nazi entity and has sided with human values, deciding to stand on the right side of history. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, and their...

cfgaussian,

Doesn’t really matter what you’re comfortable with. The fact is that the Al Qassam brigades are the main force of resistance against the genocide in Gaza.

cfgaussian,

This is an extremely serious issue and unfortunately not many people know about or understand it. Too many still believe that if something is open source then it can’t have malicious code and backdoors in it, but unfortunately that’s just not the case. We already knew that the mainstream platforms and western made hardware all have built in backdoors and co-operate with the intelligence agencies, but that this is now extending to the more fringe alternative platforms and OSS as well is very worrisome.

And there is nothing that guarantees that just because they managed to fend off one attempt at infiltration that no further attempts were already made and maybe even successful. I think that where this is all heading toward is that at some point people for who privacy and security against western governments is essential will have no choice but to use exclusively Russian and Chinese made products. Yes those will undoubtedly have backdoors for their respective states as well, but as long as they do not share their intelligence with the West i frankly couldn’t care less if they know what i’m up to. The main government that you need to be worried about is always the one in your own country, doubly so if you live in the imperial core.

‘The rule of law says that the islands are Chinese’ (www.globaltimes.cn)

The recent tensions between China and the Philippines have been flared up by the Philippines to make illegal claims over South China Sea islands and maritime rights. Nonetheless, a book written by Anthony Carty (Carty), an Irish professor of international law and now a visiting professor at the Institute of Humanities and Social...

cfgaussian,

What’s most interesting about articles like this is that this is not some leftist alternative media publication or some fringe pro-Russia pundit, it’s a mainstream conservative (though they claim they are not neocons but “realists”) US imperialist think tank that has for decades been deeply embedded into the US foreign policy establishment, founded by Nixon and formerly chaired by war criminal Henry Kissinger.

It shows the clear cracks in the imperialist state that there is now this deepening divide between the current leadership of completely fanatical neocons like Blinken and Nuland who are growing increasingly detached from reality and the “old guard” establishment who still have some semblance of sense and are trying desperately but futilely to steer the ship of empire away from the abyss it is sailing into.

cfgaussian,

Because the “rules based order” is the opposite of international law. International law applies equally to all whereas the “rules” of the “rules based order” are made up and applied selectively as benefits the imperialist West. It is also never clear what these “rules” and “norms” are which the West loves to tout as opposed to clearly written down laws, and this allows them to suddenly “discover” new ones and do away with or ignore others that are inconvenient for them.
