@psykose there's no way gcc/clang runtime is reasonable

I guess my expectation for something like an unoptimised build is the speed of dmd (which is still slow imo), if you're even slower than that then you have problems (and maybe your problem is C++ and it's impossible to fix, but I think the reason there's no fast C compiler you can actually use is that you need extensions and warnings and so on to actually compile anything or do development)
